Was she annoyed because he didn't know it? Did she think he should know it? Did she think that as she knew it, anyone should know it?
Did something bad happen to him because he didn't know it? Did she know that he didn't know it? Did he know that she knew it? (If these questions make any sense)
Is the connection between him and her relevant? Friends? Colleagues? Relatives? Teammates? Strangers?

Was the thing they knew/didn't know the answer to a question asked to them? Information about an object? About a person?
Would he have done something different if he had known? Would he have not done something, but because he didn't know he did it?
Would she have done something different had she not known? Would she have not done something, but because she knew she did do it?
If he had known, and she had not known, would there have been no problem whatsoever?
Is it relevant how she found the thing out? Relevant why he didn't know?

Were they playing a game? A quiz? If so, are they playing against each other? Was the question asked to both of them? Or just to him? Just to her? Was she annoyed because the question wasn't asked to her, but if it had been se knew it and would have won?
Did he lose the game/quiz because he didn't know? Did she lose?

So the same question was asked to both of them? And he got it wrong, she got it right, but they were both annoyed? Was he only annoyed because he didn't know the answer?
Did something worse than just getting a question wrong happen to her because she got it right? Eg if you were playing a sort of quiz board game, and she got it right meaning she advanced onto a square aaying "miss a go"? Anything like this?

Was this the type of quiz where you get a point for each correct answer, and at the end the person with the most points wins? Or was it more complex than that? Was it only between him and her, or were there many competing people? Were they playing individually or in teams? Is it relevant where you come into this? Were you also playing the quiz? Were you on a team with him or her?
Did the fact that she knew it reflect badly on her (eg it was a fact that she would be embarrassed to admit she knew)?

Is it something that is quite embarrassing to know? Such as the exact chart position of a Milli Vanilli single in 1982?

Or was she just annoyed because she knew the answer but the question wasn't handed over to her so she didn't score a point (ie she answered just for fun)?

Did she actually give the correct answer? Was she annoyed because of her friendship with the opponent who failed to get the answer right? Was it one of those annoyingly unfair questions like "how many notes in an octave"?

Sorry if I duplicate any questions:

Even though they were competing against each other, was she annoyed because she thought he should know the answer? Did it make the man look bad for not knowing the answer? Should he have known the answer?

Relevant what the category was? if so, sports? politics? educational (math/ literature/ science)? entertainment (television/ radio/ movies/ music/ art)?

Did you say something after the question was answered that annoyed her? Do something? Did you make it seem like answering the question wasn't that impressive (like "Yes, that's right, but then I would hope you knew that")? Was she right to be annoyed with you?
What was the order that things happened in the puzzle statement? Was it:
He is annoyed-->she is annoyed-->you are amused?
or he is annoyed-->this amuses you-->she is annoyed because you are amused?
Was the question asked first to him, and then to her? Or just generally to everyone playing? Did they know at the time whether they got it right, or only at the end when the answers were revealed? Relevant?

What was the order that things happened in the puzzle statement? Was it:
He is annoyed-->she is annoyed-->you are amused?
or he is annoyed-->this amuses you-->she is annoyed because you are amused?more like the first... however his annoyance and hers are simultaneous
Was the question asked first to him, and then to her?to both together Or just generally to everyone playing?actually this one...Yes Did they know at the time whether they got it right, or only at the end when the answers were revealed?answers revealed at end of round... however as has been already found out she knew the answer Relevant? Not really... but something else about the quiz in general is... was that a hint I just gave?

The exact format of the quiz is irrelevant, but something else about our quiz is very relevant.

To get the irrelevant bit out of the way the quiz consists of 4 rounds of eight questions. joker can be played on one round doubling the points. Remember that the JOKER is IRRELEVANT to the puzzle. Tie break rounds can be played each consisting of 3 questions only answered by tied teams. A final "closest to the answer is often used after two tie break rounds. ALL OF THIS IS IRRELEVANT

If you had used that question but she hadn't known the answer, could she still have been annoyed for the same reason? Or could the question not have been there if she didn't know the answer? Did she know that question would be in the quiz? Did she just happen to know the answer, or had she come across that question being asked before? To her?

Does the quiz have a theme? And this question didn't fit the theme?
eg "things that happened in 1968", and you asked about the exact date of the first moon landing?

Was the question "re-used" from a previous quiz? Is there something relevant about the question itself? Or its answer? that annoyed her

To continue the line of questioning above. If you'd asked a different question, with the same answer, would she still have been annoyed?
And would she still have been annoyed if he had known the answer to the question?

Had she previously run a pub quiz and used that question?

Was she planning to run a pub quiz in the near future, and had that question in her line-up, but you "stole" it from her?

With apologies to Bentarm for ignoring his questions but...

Rabrab:

Had she previously run a pub quiz and used that question? No

Was she planning to run a pub quiz in the near future, and had that question in her line-up, but you "stole" it from her?EXACTLY!!!!!

****************SPOILER******************

In one of my local pubs we run a pub quiz every week. Each week a different person sets the questions. Recently it was my turn and I asked the question "what is Stinking Bishop?" at this one of my friends was annoyed because he didn't know the answer, while the team he was neck and neck with did. One of the members of the other team was also annoyed- but in her case because I had "stolen" one of her questions for the next week!

Well done to all who took part!
