Was she laughing in a "I had to laugh or I'd cry" sort of reaction? Was she involved in the situation? simply witnessing it? had she caused it? If yes to "caused it", was it entirely her doing? had she contributed substantially to it occurring? contributed somewhat to it occurring? contributed only minorly to it occurring? Was the far-from funny-situation physically life-threatening? physically dangerous, but not life-threatening? physically uncomfortable? Emotionally very disturbing? (A family member is dying) emotionally upsetting? (Fight with SO) emotionally annoying? (Neighbor yelled at your dog.) Financially devastating? (Bankruptcy, major house fire, bank crash) Financially uncomfortable? (Car needed repairs) Financially annoying? (Gas went up to $3.50/gallon) |

I'll email you my guess.reply sent. you're correct. Does her seizure somehow cause her to laugh, through muscle spasms or something like that? yes... *********SPOILER************* She suffers from gelastic seizures, which are a form of epileptic seizures. The seizures affect the part of the brain that controls emotion, so some people experience fear, or extreme sadness, but perhaps the most common is uncontrollable laughter. The laughter may or may not be accompanied by more "typical" seizing, like the violent shaking you see on TV. The inspiration came from an article about a 3 year old who suffers from laughing seizures. So it's safe to say that although she was laughing, and laughing quite uncontrollably, the fact that she was suffering from an epileptic seizure is hardly funny. |
