Andrew was visiting New York City when he had an accident. He was slightly hurt, but laughed the incident off and said, "Well, at least it happened here in New York !" |

Is Andrew's country of origin relevant? If so, is it [insert time-honoured LTPF list of countries]? Would Andrew have suffered more if the accident had happened in Boston? In New Orleans? In London? Did he know someone in New York who was able to help him? Would it help us to discover the circumstances of the accident? Did it involve traffic? Roads? |

Was it an accident with a vehicle? Has he been in New York City before? Did someone help him who wouldn't have helped him if it happened in another city? |

Is it important to know what body part was "slightly hurt"? Was he embarrassed about the accident? Was he alone? If no, would he have laughed if he had been alone? |

Does this have something to do with all the high skyscrapers there? Something with a famous building? Famous construction? Was he the only one who was hurt? Was a building destroyed and was he just happy that this happened to New York and not to his homeland? |

does it have to do with the fact that Americans drive/walk on the right and in UK people drive/walk on the left? was he in the building/ outside of the building? important what type of building it is? did he run into the building itself? did he run into a window? did he go/ or try to go the wrong way through a revolving door? did he run into something/someone in a building? did he misread something--something that American's would understand but maybe something that someone from another country would misunderstand/misread? did he take something literally? a sign maybe? |

I know that, in America, most of the skyscrapers don't have a thirteenth floor. Did he fall out of a window on floor 14 (or higher), and was he happy that he had to fall less? |

SPOILER: He fell out the first floor window. In New York (as in much of North America), the first floor window is the one just above ground, but in other places, it is the one that is one storey above ground. |
