Is it more complicated because of language? culture? traditions? climate? goegraphy? politics? economy?

Would it be as complicated North of the border?

once? twice? 3x? a day? This varies a lot. In the US, I probably average about 2x week, but sometimes every day & sometimes not for a couple of weeks. In South Korea, because doing it is so much more cumbersome, I rarely do it more than once a week.

Can it be done several times a day? Or is it something that you "do" all day long, like fasting?

Is it related to:
Exercise? Physical activity?
Grocery shopping?
Travel? car care?
Cloths, shoes, accessories?
Your appearance?
Housekeeping?

Could you hire someone to do it for you?

please indicate if any of these steps are more complicated when sending a letter in Korea

buy stationery
buy envelope
write letter
insert letter into envelope
seal envelope
write "to" address on envelope
write "from" address on envelope
purchase a stamp
affix stamp to envelope
submit letter to postal employee
or...drop letter in mailbox

is there any step missing?
would a letter be weighed?
would there be some special calculation for postage?

Hm.. this wouldn't cover why it's difficult to send mail from Korea elsewhere (unless the return address is the hard part), but does this have anything to do with the fact that there are mostly no signs labeling street names, most streets do not have names at all, and houses do not usually have numbers on the outside? That house numbers are not in the order of where they are on the street but rather when they were built?

so for the stamp bit is all thats relevant that you either have to take glue with you, or else buy glue there (if you can do this)? anything else relevant about the stamp?

Is it difficult to insert the letter through the slot because it is too narrow, or the protective flap is very stiff?

Is some specific method required to insert a letter?

Are the mailboxes specific w.r.t. where the letter is headed? For example, in some places in India there are walls with about 15 different mailboxes classified by state or country of delivery. So it would be annoying to find the correct mailbox. Or maybe there's a code of some kind you need to refer to before identifying the correct mailbox.

Maybe there's a separate slot for express mail and normal mail, and you couldn't figure out which one it was because there was no sign in english?

Is the complication regarding the location of the mailbox itself?
is the mailbox in a location other than the post office, requiring some travel to get to the mailbox?
are mailboxes considered s scarce?
is there something to do with the security of the mailbox?
