I often find myself making a comment pointing out the quite obvious fact that two particular dissimilar entities/institutions are not, in fact, one and the same. Why would I need to do this so often? |

I assume that you have to do it to correct a mistake that is being made? Are you making this comment verbally? in writing? Are you editing something when you make it? correcting something (like a term paper or essay?) Similar names? Common mis-usage of a word? a title? a name? Mis-spelling? Common or easy-to-make typo? Common misunderstanding or mis-perception of what one or both entities do/are/make? |

Is what the organisations actually do relevant? Is one an organisation and the other something else? Is charity vs Governmental relevant? (I am in St John Ambulance and we are constantly having to explain that we are NOT part of the National Health Service!) |

Archway to excellence? Arch foundation?no I was about to stand back, having just done that... tis the arch where the historic Athens meets the campus...yes, it's among the most prominent symbols of UGA Love the bit about freshmen becoming sterile if they walk through it as well as not graduating... does anyone actually fall for that? sterile? I can't say I've ever heard that before, and seeing as I am a UGA alum and employee, that's surprising. The not graduating bit, however, is as much tradition as it is superstition, and 99% of students wait until graduation day to walk through the arch. and it does resemble just a wee bit... http://www.uga.edu/profile/arch.html |

From Wikipedia: There are multiple urban legends about walking through the arch: one has it that if you walk through the arch as an underclassman, you will never graduate from UGA.[17] Another legend claims that should you walk through the arch as a freshman, you will become sterile (as told in some freshman orientation tours). |

Do people mistakenly call the UGA arch anything?yes relevant how people refer to it?yes is it called "the arch?" that's it's proper name, yes or do they call it "the arches" when it is actually a single arch???????YES!!!! [that would be annoying] Yes! It is!!! *******************SPOILER**************** I frequently hear people on campus referring to the arch as "the arches." The first few times I just ignored it, but it starts to drive me absolutely crazy! Especially when the people saying it are students who should know better. My common response is "This is UGA, not McDonalds" or sometimes "McDonalds has arches, UGA has the Arch."
