Not as a direct result of tossing. The act of tossing in itself isn't relevant to the pain. Its the consequence that is relevant. is the cause of the bruise relevant? Yes, very much. the size? had the object earlier caused the bruise? No. did the tossing of the object cause part of the object to not be present later? The tossing wasn't responsible for this. What happened after that is. did the legs bend in order to jump and throw the object? No jumping involved. The legs bent in order to do something after the "object" was tossed. or did ty have a much more relevant action? As explained above. was the object a bomb? No. did someone pick it up? No. was possessing this object illegal? Not at all. I'm having fun answering so much in one day :-). Thanks for your interest! |

Swimming involved? Diving? Deep water? None of these. When the thing was tossed, did it land on him? Hit foot? The thing that was tossed didn't land on the tosser at all. Was the pain of the bruise perceived to be less (even though it was not less) This is true. due to another pain? injury? But no to these. |

I was hit in the knee once when someone was tossing horseshoes, and did that hurt! Haha... No, no horseshoes involved :-) were sports involved? soccer? football, american? tennis? baseball? cricket? No to all. |

would the problem work if the tosser was a male? Yeah, it would work, but in this particular puzzle, its important that the tosser is female. was the person who caused the bruise angry at the tosser? Yes, but thats not the only reason why the person caused the bruises is the objects color relevant? No. was it bigger than abreadbox? smaller? Well, the "object" can't be compared with a breadbox easily... But the object can be bigger or smaller. Explore more on what the "object" is. One hint is that though its inanimate, it's misleading to consider it an object. was it made of... cloth? metal? wood? plastic? None of these. |

I can't believe I forgot to ask this, but is the tosser an adult? Finally!:-). Yes, the tosser is an adult. the victim of abuse? YES! was it something that had played an important role in her life? If by "it" you mean the object, it played an important role in her life only because she did what she did with it at that time. It isn't relevant why it had been used earlier. was the running the "bend"? No. is this a true story? Yes. |

Alrighty, it's now time for the ***************SPOILER!!!**************** The woman referred to in the puzzle is the victim of physical abuse from her husband. She had been on the receiving end for years now, and she finally decided to put an end to it by burning her husband alive. So, one night when her husband was sleeping, she tossed some kerosene over him, and bent to set the bedspread on fire, using a candle. Her husband died, and she was charged with murder. It was in jail that she found freedom from her vengeful mother-in-law and a chance to re-claim her life. (Thats why her "bruises" or the scars from her past life, didn't hurt as much.) This is, actually, a true story which has been made into a movie called "Provoked", which released last year. For more info: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0458072/ Thanks again everyone! |
