By preparing for the worst, they may have made it more likely. |

Does this have to do with nuclear armament? Build nuclear weapons to defend against nuclear weapons? But by creating them, it makes it more likely that one will be used? One will go off? |

Lots of "natural" disasters occur because of man-made interferance... particularly gas explosions (one just happened in Tacoma) Politics / Government / Military This one? Are you refering to the Military? Politics? Government? If military, does it have to do with weapons? Training? Attitude? With regard to the enemy? To prisoner? To local nationals/civilians? |

Lots of "natural" disasters occur because of man-made interferance... particularly gas explosions (one just happened in Tacoma) Politics / Government / Military This one? Are you refering to the Military? Yes Politics? Government? These are difficult questions to answer... the danger itself is that they could be killed in battle, and the chance of that would depend on pretty much all of those factors, so I'll answer based on which ones are relevant to why it would become more likely If military, does it have to do with weapons? No Training? No Attitude? Yesish With regard to the enemy? No To prisoner? No To local nationals/civilians? No |

Is this with regards to the recent "War on terror" where preemptive strikes were made to sort of 'prepare for the worst', but this possibly multiplied the pockets of dissension, posing an even bigger threat for the future.. |

So the military improved their morale which may have made it more likely to get killed in battle? is it general morale boosting that would have led to the vulnerability issue? or a specific aspect of something they did while raising morale? |

is intoxication relevant Yes! Spoiler While I was at a Renaissance festival listening to a demonstration on medieval fighting, they told me that the day before a battle, soldiers would party and celebrate because of all the heroic deeds that would happen on the battlefield (also, many of them would be dead the next day anyway). I thought that this might not have been a good idea, because is the soldiers had a hangover from partying then they might not fight as well. |
