They argued for over an hour before she walked out. She didn't come back for days. She was surprised, though, that when she did come back he wasn't there. What happened? |

Whoops! I'm retarded and I bolded my title instead of putting in my name. Would a mod be so kind as to fix this for me? |

Did the argument cause his departure? If not cause, was it relevant to his departure? Would he have left had the arguement not taken place? Was the argument related to the subject material of the class? Is the subject relevant to solving the puzzle? Was this class high school? undergraduate? graduate? |

My scenario: the argument (which took place on Friday) was a classroom discussion. When she came back Monday he was gone (because he was a substitute). Close? |

Did she not realize that he was a substitute teacher? Was it the begining of the term and the regular teacher had not been there yet? Did she think that the sub was the regular teacher? |

Did she not realize that he was a substitute teacher? Was it the begining of the term and the regular teacher had not been there yet? Did she think that the sub was the regular teacher? All correct! SPOILER I took a philosophy course (epistemology, hence my title) in college and the first day of class was on a Friday. The teacher didn't introduce himself, just called roll and launched into an hour long debate over whether 1=2. (the idea being that if you rip 1 piece of paper in half you then have 2 pieces of paper. The class arguing that you have 2 pieces, but not the same size so they are not equal units, etc.) It was a great, energized debate and I left the class (walked out) very excited about the semester. However when I came back to class Monday, a different teacher was there. I was surprised, and disappointed when he explained that the other man had filled in for him because he was stuck out of town on the first day of class. Unfortunately, the new teacher was dreadfully boring. And he assigned me a seat next to a very smelly hippie. At least I got an A... |
