Are the objects made out of: metal? partly this wood? paper? cardboard? glass? stone? concrete? tissue? organic material? and partly this plastic? rubber? but none of the others, or so I would hope Are they longer than 1 mm? 10 mm? 100 mm? in this range 1 m? 10 m? 100 m? Do they have a particular colour? no, they are multi-coloured, but their colour is not relevant Are the two objects distinguishable by a glimpse? no by a close inspection? perhaps this not at all? but this is closest: at the time of purchase they look very very similar Are they related to arts? education? sports? eating? this one drinking? sleeping? Did you have to use two at the same time? in a sense, but this may mislead one instead of the other one? again, in a sense, but it may mislead Did you use them yourself? yes Are any other people involved? no |

Did you forget how long the tin was supposed to stay in the oven? Suppose you had no second tin would you: Have done anything wrong in the preparation? Have taken the tin out of the oven (just to read the instructions) burning your fingers? |

Did you forget how long the tin was supposed to stay in the oven? Suppose you had no second tin would you: Have done anything wrong in the preparation? Have taken the tin out of the oven (just to read the instructions) burning your fingers? Yes! And that will do, apart from one little detail: *** SPOILER *** Actually, it was a Fray Bentos chicken and mushroom pie, which I popped into a hot oven, forgetting to check the cooking time. For some reason best known to the makers, the cooking instructions were on the bottom of the tin. Luckily, rather than taking a scalding hot pie out of the oven and peering under it, I remembered that I'd bought a second one. Thanks for playing! My other puzzle has gone quiet, so I'll post a recap. |
