Is the place where this happened relevant? Is this a true story? fyoi? based on a film, book etc.? Did he say "Thank you." to someone in particular? Did this someone do something for him? |

Actually, I thought I might know this. But that depends on whether he is human or not... so I thought I might wait a little bit before emailing. |

Those that thanked him knew he would die as a result? knew there was a chance he would die as a result? were simply behaving recklessly (i.e. did not think through the consequences of their thanking him)? Did the act of thanking him expose him in a hiding place? Did the act of thanking him expose him, for his role in an incident, (i.e draw him out) from a group? if so: were the group aware of an individual among them responsible for this role before he was thanked? did the group kill him? |

Heck with it. Tsoram's Prohibition scenario was practically on target, so I'm calling this solved. Big Ol' Spoiler.... ********************************** A British Intel officer (the same one from my first puzzle about the Dirty Paper Method) wanted to discredit an Arab who had been supporting the Germans. So he sent a message thanking the Arab for his cooperation with the British, enclosed 10,000 Lire, and ensured that it fell into German hands. The Germans promptly hanged the 'spy.' |
