You can do it? Do you do it? Have you done it? Are you doing it? Are you about to do it?

You can do it all by yourself. Lemme see you do it.

Can I do it. Will I be doing it? Should I do it? If I could do it, would I do it? How many times would a doer of it do it if a doer of it could do it?

Can I do it. Yes Will I be doing it? It depends on you, it is even possible you are doing it already Should I do it? I would say yes, but I am definitely biased If I could do it, would I do it? I do not know, it would fully depend on you How many times would a doer of it do it if a doer of it could do it? As he likes - I know of some who do it every day, and of others who do it only occasionally

Does it involve vetoing a bill? Signing a bill into law? Does it involve the military? Does it involve nominating someone to a position in the federal judiciary? Does it involve any utilization of executive power? Does it involve the usage of general head of state power? Did he do it so that other people would be able to "do it"? The roles of POTUS include, but are not limited to, Chief of State, Chief Executive, Chief Diplomat, Commander-in-Chief, Chief Legislator, Party Chief, Chief Administrator/Bureaucrat, and Chief Citizen.

Chief of State

The president's role as chief of state is to represent the United States at public events. This is mainly a ceremonial role that allows the president to promote/convey/represent American values and acknowledge others who do the same.

Examples in this role
1. Awarding medals to students receiving academic honors.
2. Congratulating astronauts upon their return from space travel.
3. Greeting visitors to the White House.
4. Delivering the State of the Union Address.

Chief Executive

The president is the chief executive, empowered to administer the laws and affairs of the nation. While the president does not make the laws, his agencies have the responsibility and authority to carry out the laws.

Examples in this role
1. Appointing the head of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
2. Holding a Cabinet meeting to discuss government business.
3. Reading Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reports on the state of national security.

Chief Diplomat

Being a diplomat involves interacting with leaders from other nations. The president takes the lead in foreign relations by associating with foreign leaders and, along with the help of Congress, develops a foreign policy with other nations.

Examples in this role
1. Traveling to London to meet with the British prime minister.
2. Working with leaders in the Middle East in an effort to create a peace plan for the region.

Chief Legislator

Though the president cannot make laws, he can voice his own ideas and opinions to Congress while they draft legislation. He does this through speeches promoting his agenda and by meeting with Congress to discuss policies.

Examples in this role
1. Signing or vetoing a bill passed by Congress.
2. Working to get enough House or Senate votes for a bill to be passed through each respective house.
3.Making a speech in Congress.

Commander-in-Chief

The president is the commander-in-chief of the U.S. armed forces. That means all of the military leaders report to and take orders from the president. The president performs this duty as a civilian, someone who is not in military service.

Examples in this role
1. Inspecting a Navy yard.
2. Deciding, in wartime, whether to bomb foreign cities.
3. Calling out the National Guard to stop a riot.

Party Chief

In this role, the president helps members of his political party get elected or appointed to office. The president campaigns for those members who have supported his policies. At the end of a term the president may campaign for reelection with his party’s support.

Examples in this role
1. Choosing leading party members to serve in the Cabinet.
2. Traveling to California to speak at a rally for a party nominee to the U.S. Senate.

Chief Administrator/Bureaucrat

The President is in charge of all bureaucratic executive agencies. He appoints members of the Cabinet.

Chief Citizen

The President is the representative of the people, working for the public interest, not just the constituents of a State or congressional district, or those that voted for him/her.

wow, Doctapeppa, that was really impressive. Thank you!

I would say that in this particular case, the President was acting as:

- Chief Executive
- Chief Legislator
- Commander-in-Chief
- Chief Citizen

I apologize for not being able to guarantee that this is 100% accurate, though.

who was the president of a different country enable people to "do it"? Someone who had a different political position in the U.S.? Is what Mr. Clinton did generally considered an inevitable occurrence? (that somebody would do it eventually?) Or is it probable that what he did would never have been done if he hadn't done it? If a different President had done it, would people be able to "do it"? A former President? If the President did it at a different time would people still be able to "do it"? If Mr. Clinton had done it sooner, would you have been able to "do it" sooner?

Is what Mr. Clinton did generally considered an inevitable occurrence? (that somebody would do it eventually?) Or is it probable that what he did would never have been done if he hadn't done it? If a different President had done it, would people be able to "do it"? A former President? If the President did it at a different time would people still be able to "do it"? If Mr. Clinton had done it sooner, would you have been able to "do it" sooner?

who was the president of a different country enable people to "do it"? There was no other president involved Someone who had a different political position in the U.S.? You mean whether a person with a different position could have done it? If so, the answer is No Is what Mr. Clinton did generally considered an inevitable occurrence? (that somebody would do it eventually?) Yes Or is it probable that what he did would never have been done if he hadn't done it? I don't think so If a different President had done it, would people be able to "do it"? Yes A former President? Yes; however, not just ANY former President If the President did it at a different time would people still be able to "do it"? Yes If Mr. Clinton had done it sooner, would you have been able to "do it" sooner? Yes

Oh, and are albatrosses relevant? I checked and, in fact, you might come across an Albatross, but I think we'd rather consider it irrelevant for the purposes of this puzzle

1004 was a continuation of 1003, in case you missed that.

Would George H. W. Bush have been able to do it? George Washington? Ronald Reagan? Abraham Lincoln?

1004 was a continuation of 1003, in case you missed that. Oh, I see. I actually did miss it, I do apologize.
Given it was your question, I did not expect the answer to be that simple :-))

Would George H. W. Bush have been able to do it? Yes George Washington? No Ronald Reagan? Yes Abraham Lincoln? No

Is technology relevant to the puzzle? Politics? Geothermal nucleation?
Would anybody be able to "do it" if there had never been a United States? Would the President of the United States be the only position capable of doing it? What kind of criteria determine who can "do it"? Age? Sex? Physical attributes? Mental ability? Something intangible? Turkeys? Any dead men or elevators relevant? Did anybody have any kind of disability? Blindness? Deafness? Any midgets involved? Circuses? Any specific branch of the military relevant? Possibly the Navy? Or maybe the Coast Guard? Have I "done it" today?

I beg your pardon?
Would anybody be able to "do it" if there had never been a United States? who knows ? Would the President of the United States be the only position capable of doing it? Yes, given the fact there HAS been a United States, and the overall circumstances. What kind of criteria determine who can "do it"? Age? only to a certain extent Sex? No Physical attributes? yesish Mental ability? noish, provided it is at least slightly below average Something intangible? yes Turkeys? Any dead men or elevators relevant? You may occasionally come across a turkey, a dead man, or an elevator, but I do not want to mislead you; for the purposes of the puzzle, it is irrelevant Did anybody have any kind of disability? you mean anybody "doing it"? If so, the answer is Yes Blindness? I do not know of anyone blind "doing it" Deafness? This would probably not be an obstacle Any midgets involved? Definitely, you can find some - I personally did, but for the purposes of the puzzle it is irrelevant Circuses? Same as for albatroses etc Any specific branch of the military relevant? Several Possibly the Navy? Definitely! Or maybe the Coast Guard? Yes, they are involved as well Have I "done it" today? how on Earth should I know?

Good idea.

During his presidency, Bill Clinton did something the consequences of which caused that I am able to do a certain activity, and so is anybody around the world who meets certain conditions. You can do this activity either by yourself or in company, but you cannot do it without the existence of others.

What Bill Clinton did, could have been done only in the quality of the President of the U.S. However, certain other Presidents such as Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush could in theory have done it as well. It is somehow related to technology using some sort of electromagnetic energy, and also to the U.S. Army , Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard.

I think this is close enough for me to publish the

**************************SPOILER********************************

GPS were available for civilian use since 1983; however, to confound potential enemies, GPS receivers included a feature known as "SELECTIVE AVAILABILITY“ which could introduce random errors of up to 328 ft (100 metres) to publicly available navigation signals.

On May 1, 2000, President Bill Clinton issued a statement announcing that selective availability was going to be disabled, which dramatically improved the accuracy of civilian GPS receivers.

On May 3, one of the GPS users wanted to test the accuracy by hiding a navigational target in the woods and encouraging others to locate it. This gave birth to the worldwide treasure-hunting game known as "GEOCACHING“.

For those who are not familiar with this game: its participants use GPS technology to hide and seek containers called "geocaches" or "caches" all around the world. A typical cache is a small waterproof container containing a logbook and "treasure," usually toys or other objects of little value. The cache owner hides the container, preferably near an interesting place, takes its coordinates and publishes them with other details on the location on a special website. Other geocachers use these coordinates to seek the geocache with their GPS receivers, sometimes only with the Internet maps. Once they find the cache, they make a log in the logbook in the cache and on the Internet, and they may take an object out of the cache provided they put in another one with a similar or higher value.

As you can see, it is an activity you can do on your own, with your family or friends. Especially kids are delighted when they find a “treasure”. Actually, it saved my life several times when trying to find an activity which could be done with two pre-schoolers ;-)). There are caches of different sizes and difficulties of terrain, sometimes coordinates are given outright, sometimes you have to calculate them yourself. And, as I mentioned earlier in the puzzle, there really ARE caches named after albatrosses, dead men, midgets and even elevators :-))).

Thank you all for joining me in the puzzle, especially Doctapeppa for most of the work done the and Sundowner for his exact wild guess!
