John's bad habit caused Iris to get a higher score. Might be a quickie. |

Iris score on a test? Or scoring higher in an event? Sports? Competition? Did Iris get her score fairly? If John had not had this bad habit, would Iris have gotten her superior score? If Iris had this bad habit, would John have gotten a higher score? Generally, is having a higher score considered a positive thing? Did Iris get her higher score as a direct result of John's bad habit? Or did John's bad habit inhibit him from getting a higher score than Iris? Does "higher score" refer to: -Her score being higher than John's through comparison. or -Her score went up as a result of John's bad habit. or. -other? |

Pikachizzle (Pikachizzle) Iris score on a test? No. Or scoring higher in an event? Sports? This. Competition? Did Iris get her score fairly? Yesish. If John had not had this bad habit, would Iris have gotten her superior score? FA. If Iris had this bad habit, would John have gotten a higher score? Quite possibly. Generally, is having a higher score considered a positive thing? No. Did Iris get her higher score as a direct result of John's bad habit? No, but not too indirectly. Or did John's bad habit inhibit him from getting a higher score than Iris? No, good question. Does "higher score" refer to: -Her score being higher than John's through comparison. or -Her score went up as a result of John's bad habit. This. or. -other? |

FA: Is a higher score more desirable in this sport? Is the sport golf? Were John and Iris both participants in this sport at the same basic time (though not necessarily in the same event)? Did/do John and Iris live during the same time period? Does John's bad habit result in the change of a rule? Is this sport an individual sport? team sport? |

Is the sport minigolf? Let's say his bad habit is that he tends to jerk his arms when he is nervous. He is SO nervous that before he hits the ball, he jerks his arms and the ball flies so fast that it breaks the little windmill thingy or whatever and falls into the hole. Lucky John. The Iris still has to play and since she cannot make it into the hole because of a windmill-piece blocking it, she ends up having to forfeit or play until the round ends. |

Was John's bad habit distracting to Iris? Did he make a noise? Would his habit be considered bad etiquette? Poor sportsmanship? Did he fail to replace his divots? Rake the trap? Pull the flag? Did her higher score occur during tee-off? In the fairway? During putting? Some other distinct part of the round? Did her higher score result from additional strokes? Scoring errors? Penalties? Does the bad habit relate to his own play? Was he a caddy? |

Quovynyte (Quovynyte) Is it golf on a Wii or something? Nope, real life. Davesnothere (Davesnothere) Was John's bad habit distracting to Iris? Indirectly. Did he make a noise? Yes. Would his habit be considered bad etiquette? Possibly, but not directly. Poor sportsmanship? No. Did he fail to replace his divots? Rake the trap? Pull the flag? None of these. Did her higher score occur during tee-off? In the fairway? During putting? Some other distinct part of the round? Since it's mini golf, there's really only putting. =) Did her higher score result from additional strokes? This. Scoring errors? Penalties? Does the bad habit relate to his own play? No. Was he a caddy? No. Davesnothere (Davesnothere) Title relevant? Not really, only that it's a song about a couple with strange habits. Does spite relate to anger? No. Was there any physical damage to equipment? To the course? Nope. |

Pikachizzle (Pikachizzle) Does John have Tourette's syndrome? No, I wouldn't consider that a habit. Did his yelling an expletive cause Iris to miss and get a higher score? But you're pretty close! Sugarshane (Sugarshane) is johns habit quiting? Quitting, as in walking away from the game? No. |

Sugarshane (Sugarshane) his coughing throws her off? Yes indeed. ****************SPOILER John is quite a heavy smoker, which means that he is also quite a heavy cougher. When he and Iris go mini-golfing, he often happens to cough right as she is trying to putt. These unintentional distractions add up, giving Iris a much higher score than John, which in golf is of course not a good thing. |
