Hi everyone – just discovered this site a couple of days ago. After having a go at some of your puzzles thought I'd pitch one of my own. Probably not particularly taxing but I feel I should start slowly! Hope you enjoy. I gave her a gift. He called the police. |

Was something incidental to the gift dangerous (such as the wrapping) rather than the gift itself? |

(Alhucema) Was the gift explosive? No poisonous?Yes alive? No Was it given purposefully to cause harm?Yes Was he her father? This son? cousin? uncle? grandfather? (Jenburdoo) Was something incidental to the gift dangerous (such as the wrapping) rather than the gift itself? No I fear this may not have been as good a puzzle as I had hoped – many of the key points have already been identified. Guess I need some practise devising them! |

Is it solid? Liquid? Gaseous? Radioactive? Is it mercury? That you gave her to play with? Did you want to: hurt her? Kill her? does it poison by: skin contact? Ingestion? Inhalation? Did her father know it was dangerous? Is the poison: slow-acting? Cumulative? Does the gift only consist of the poison itself? Or is it contained in something relevant? Something that will administer the poison? |

Has this anything to do with the fact that "Gift" is the German word for "poison"? It has everything to do with that! ******************** SPOILER ******************** Indeed, the word "gift" is German for poison - that was what I gave to her, and not a gift as we typically understand it in English (ie. a present) Thanks for taking part guys, and I hope I can come up with some better puzzles in future. |
