Brendan attended a sporting event (as a spectator). He was very excited to be there and a big fan. But when Brendan heard the crowd supporting his team, he became very upset. Why? |

RECAP: Brendan attended a non-NHL hockey game. The crowd used a specific slogan in suupport of a specific player on Brendn`s team. Brendan misinterpreted this slogan as negative towards his team. And you should definately familiarise yourself with hockey, it`s far better than football or whatever sport you might follow. |

Did a player on the other team share the same name? Is Brendan familiar with the players of the Canadian team? The opponents? Does Brendan have a scrund? Do we need to work out the slogan? If so, I'm stuck, unless we are allowed to google for a list of Canadian Olympic hockey players. |

Did he think they were shouting "Boooo!"? Because he only heard the "oooo" and made an assumption? ****SPOILER***** Halfway through the 2010 Olympic hockey tournament, Roberto Luongo replaced Martin Brodeur as starting goaltender for Team Canada. Whenever Luongo made a save, (or even touched the puck for that matter) fans would cheer him on with "Looouuuuu". predictably, new Canadians or non-hockey fans and young children would often hear this as "booooo" and wonder why the Canadian crowd was booing their own goalie. There was certainly a lot of "Loooing" when we won the gold medal, proving once again that only Canadians can play hockey. |
