Did he have a terminal illness that was going to kill him, but was killed by a person before the illness took effect? No. Was he executed? Maybe for SVV of execution, but rather no. Sorry for that double post yesterday, but I can't delete or edit that post. :-( | ||

Thought I must admit that I didn't know about Brandon Lee, but according to Wikipedia it's something very similar to my story. *************SPOILER*************** In my version "he" played in a play, in which he was supposed to be shot. He knew he is going to die, but no for real. But one time instead of blank, he was shot by a real bullet. That was very surprising for him. :-) Difference between my story and Brandon's was that this was not an accident. He was actually murdered. And the murder was the one who replaced the bullet, so the person who shot him was actually innocent. | ||

We've had at least one puzzle with a similar solution, and I can think of a couple mystery novels like it -- a military reenactor shot with a real bullet during a mock battle instead of with blanks. | ||
