If the title had been "[Balin] 7!" would the first post have been "5. 0. 4. 0?" ? |

6! = 720 It does, but that's not relevant. Well, not really. That is how I came up with the puzzle title though - think about where you might find factorials. |

Will there be one day none at all? Quite possibly Castrati relevant? No This is pretty close, and this puzzle wasn't as good as I thought, so here's the **********SPOILER********** The numbers represent the number of guys in my high school choir over the years. Two years ago, there were 7. This year, 2. Next year, both guys (myself [tenor] and one other [bass]) will have graduated, so there may be no guys in choir next year. This is not good news to me, as I greatly enjoyed choir and would be saddened to see the male voices be absent from it. (Not that the girls are any bad - they're good, but our choir is best with mixed genders.) Nice work to everyone involved, especially It_so_happened for most of the work, and Jenburdoo for the coda. |

And some background information, as I'm sure some of you are wondering how a high school choir could have 7 guys in it: I went to a small, private, Christian school for pretty much my whole life (13 years). The high school consists of 120 students. Our choir two years ago had about 35 people, but membership dramatically dropped to 12 this past year. Next year...who knows? |
