When we were first married I was teased by my husband for my love of gadgets, in particular an 'egg pricker'. This was an item onto which you put an egg and it stabbed a hole through the shell. This was to help when boiling it. I forget now why as I haven't boiled an egg in decades.

Anyhoo, the other day my husband said 'that widget you bought is fantastic'. Hah, after 31 years of marriage there's a widget he loves! What widget is it?

Stabs in the dark are acceptable, as are the usual probing questions.

Is the widget sold on an infomercial? Does he mostly use it? You? Both?

Is the widget used for cooking? Cleaning? Indoors? Outdoors?

Is your husband entertained by it? Does he like how it makes things simpler?

Is the tea in bags? Or is it loose leaves? Is it one of those little metal or mesh balls in which you put tea leaves, and then dip it into hot water in order to make tea without leaves floating around? Or is it something more high-tech?

Is the widget manufactured and sold as such? Or can it be constructed at home?

Is it used to change the flavor of the tea? Make it easier to brew? Brew it in an unusual fashion?

Is the cup itself the gadget? If not, is the gadget placed: in the cup? Under the cup? On top of it? Around it? Or is it used before the water ends up in the cup?

Does the gadget do something to the tea bag? Does it: hold it? yep Squeeze it? yep Move it? yep

*************** SPOILER *************

Simple really. This gadget picks up the teabag with it's arms, you dunk it in the hot water, press the plunger which squeezes it really firmly, this makes the tea very quickly, you can then remove the teabag and press or pull something else (I forget which without trying it again) and that opens the arms and you can get rid of the soggy bag without ever touching it. You can see one here.
