FA, I had nothing to do with it And they turned up again? ***BLOOPER*** I was led to believe they've turned up again...they may not have, although not all of them have "disappeared", as I thought...between 88 and 93 percent have, but not all. | ||

RECAP: A few days ago, owing to the protests in Egypt, a mass "disappearance" of Egyptians took place, at least in the perception of non-Egyptians. How did they "disappear"? | ||

YES!!!!! And Rbruma and Redwine nail it for the solve! ***SPOILER*** On January 28, 2011, all five major Internet service providers shut down one after the other. All but 7% to 12% of Egyptian networks were therefore unavailable. The rest of Egypt had "disappeared" from the internet, closing off the country from the rest of the world's web-based "radar". Only NOOR DSL is still active. | ||

so it must have been a sixth, "minor" service provider. Good for it...at least some part of Egypt is still online! wonder if it accesses LTPF... |
