I used some string to get out of a fight, leaving my brother to fend for himself. It was years ago, but we laugh about it to this day.

I'm sure there's much more to it, but the "string" could be a rip cord that you pulled (I think you're the skydiver) to rapidly depart from a group of "fighting skydivers"...

Ok - I had a picture of Jaws and James Bond from 'Moonraker', where Bond steals a parachute from a jumper, puts it on, and pulls the rip cord just as Jaws is about to start gnawing on him...Bond of course rapidly leaves Jaws' clutches and descends slowly while Jaws uses a circus tent to break his fall.

Was the string tied to anything? Or did it have something tied to it? Was it kite string? Twine? Rope?
Was it simply a length of string? Ball of string? Coil of string?

All right, now I'm confused...

Was your brother fighting with a: H/A/M? (Besides you.) H/A/F?

Correctish to not cat or kitten = Representation of cat or kitten? Such as someone in sports whose team name has something to do with cats/kittens? (Or other animals?)

Ok, so let's see if I can recap what I know.

Years ago, you used some string to get out of a fight, leaving your brother to fend for himself. The string was used to distract a cat-ish, though not a cat or kitten. It's a "representation" of a cat or kitten in some way, though not as a sports symbol (e.g. "the Los Gatos Wildcats", "the Lincoln Lions", to name two local high school mascots...the latter being my former school: Go Lions!) Anyway. So wild cats are not relevant at all.

The relevant cat-ish is adult, not human, and there's more than one. Genders can't be recalled, so are presumably irrelevant.

This was apparently an amusing situation in hindsight, at least, because you still laugh about it years later.

Is that all correct, and is there anything I missed?

Additional question: Were you children at the time?

Was it a real-world fight? Or a game, maybe? Adult, not human: animals? Robots? Was it a stage play? Relevant how old were you (both) at the time? Was he your real-life brother? The ball string: real one?

The relevant cat-ish is adult, not human, and there's more than one. Genders can't be recalled, so are presumably irrelevant. Incorrect - he's not fighting the cat-ish. The above attributes describe what he's fighting.

This was apparently an amusing situation in hindsight, at least, because you still laugh about it years later. Indeed. I also tease him about it.

Is that all correct, and is there anything I missed? See above.

Additional question: Were you children at the time? No.

Was it a real-world fight? Or a game, maybe? This. Adult, not human: animals? Yope. Robots? Possibly. Was it a stage play? No. Relevant how old were you (both) at the time? No. Was he your real-life brother? No. The ball string: real one? No.

Ok, so second try on recap-guessing:

He was not fighting the cat-ish, though a cat-ish is somehow relevant. The things he was fighting are adult, not human, and there's more than one. Genders can't be recalled, so are presumably irrelevant.

It was indeed amusing in hindsight, because not only do you still laugh about it, years later, you also tease him about it.

You were not children at the time, but you were playing a game. The things he was fighting were yopishly animals and possibly robots. It was not a stage play, and your ages at the time were irrelevant.

He was not your real life brother, and the ball of string was not real either.

Oooookay, now I'm really puzzled by those last two...let's see what I got for you, Galfisk.

Not your real life brother: was he...a friend/relative who you think of as a brother?

Not a real ball of string...an imaginary ball of string? Something meant to represent a ball of string? A rubber band ball? Yarn ball? Picture of string?

Thanks for the link to that solved skydiving puzzle, Galfisk...enjoyed it muchly, especially the picture of the banana plane! =D

Ok, so the picture of a ball of string distracted the cat-ish....*eyes narrow suspiciously* Wait a second.

Is the cat only a cat-ish because it's fictional? In a film, maybe? And so distracted by a fictional ball of string in the film (a "picture" of string)? But in that case, how did you distract it? Or maybe you filmed a cat playing with string you'd distracted it with, and were now showing this to your brother...okay, I don't know if any of the above made sense.

If you hadn't said skydiving was completely irrelevant this time, I would have suggested that the cat-ish was Banana Plane or Cucumber Plane under a different name. :-p

Is the cat only a cat-ish because it's fictional? It's sort of fictional (see below). But that's not the reason for ish-ing it.In a film, maybe? No, in the game. And so distracted by a fictional ball of string in the film (a "picture" of string)? Yes, but in the game, not film. There's more to the picture of the string which has yet to be discovered. But in that case, how did you distract it? That's for you to find out;) Or maybe you filmed a cat playing with string you'd distracted it with, and were now showing this to your brother...okay, I don't know if any of the above made sense. It's not what happened.

Ah, ok. My sister has Cthulu Munchkin...or however it's spelled, lol. I haven't tried that one. Should be a riot though, always is.

Was the cat-ish a Munchkin card? And you used a ball-of-string card to escape? And the other not-humans were monster cards of some kind that your brother had to fight? Pretty much.
***SPOILER***
In a game of Munchkin, you "Go down in the dungeon. Kill everything you meet. Backstab your friends and steal their stuff. Grab the treasure and run" according to the box. we were 4-5 people pleying, and my brother was going to fight a monster. Now when this happens, the other players can choose to sabotage the player by making the monster more powerful, or sending additional monsters to help. (There are cards for all this, which they put on the table). One player can also join in the fight to help the player.

My race in the game was Feline (humanoid cat; cat-ish), and I told my brother I'd help him. The other players proceeded to boost the monster (and probably add other monsters, I don't remember) until we had no chance of defeating them. Normally, it's not allowed to back out when you've joined a fight, but the rules on the "ball of yarn" card says it will distract any Feline from a fight, and keep them from participating. (many cards have wacky rules written on them, and when tha card is used those rules supersede the normal rules of the game). So I used it to distract myself from the fight, he was left to fend for himself, and suffered the consequences from losing.
Can you say "Owned"?

All monster cards have written "Bad Stuff" that happens if you lose to that particular monster: you can lose levels, items, your life, be forced to give away stuff, be forced to endure the mockery of your friends (if you lose to the level 1 potted plant, IIRC), change sex, etc.
Then, because most monster-boosting cards had been used already, I won easily when fighting the next monster.
