Can we call "him" Mark? The other two Luke? And John? So are they relatives? Friends? Neighbors? Of each other? Of you, even though you're not relevant to the scenario? Do they know you or each other personally at all? |

Can we call "him" Mark? The other two Luke? And John? Certainly So are they relatives? Luke and John are (brothers) Friends? Neighbors? Of each other? Of you, even though you're not relevant to the scenario? No to the rest. And I read this online. Do they know you or each other personally at all? Mark knows John but not Luke. Nobody involved knows me. |

Ah, ok. So are Mark and John coworkers? Close - Mark is John's boss. The job itself is irrelevant. However... Or does one provide some sort of service for the other? Like gardening? ...it is relevant that John mows Mark's lawn. Or taking care of his car? Or something else? |

Ok, so Mark is John's boss, and John mows Mark's lawn. Is this the reason Mark is John's boss, or is it a service John provides on the side? (Oh wait, you said that's irrelevant. Moving on...) Is John good at taking care of Mark's lawn? Is he bad at it? Did Mark want to fire him, if he's bad at it? So Luke has never met Mark at all? Are Luke and John twin brothers? If so, fraternal? Identical? If not, which one is older? (Or, considering this is the LTPF and you can get this one past me if I don't put it in...) If they're not twins, are they two of a larger set of multiples? |

Ok, so Mark is John's boss, and John mows Mark's lawn. Is this the reason Mark is John's boss, or is it a service John provides on the side? This (Oh wait, you said that's irrelevant. Moving on...) Well, it is important that John is mowing Mark's lawn, and that that is not part of his regular job. Is John good at taking care of Mark's lawn? Yes... Is he bad at it? No, but... Did Mark want to fire him, if he's bad at it? No So Luke has never met Mark at all? No - they have met, and Luke knew it was Mark, but not the other way round (HINT). Are Luke and John twin brothers? No If so, fraternal? Identical? If not, which one is older? Luke (Or, considering this is the LTPF and you can get this one past me if I don't put it in...) If they're not twins, are they two of a larger set of multiples? Hee hee, no. |

Ok, so, Mark has met Luke. But, he does not realize that Luke is the brother of John, who he employs to do...whatever, as well as mow the lawn, while Luke knows that Mark is his brother's employer. Hold that thought...*looks suspiciously at the comment about mowing Mark's lawn which isn't his regular job* Does he mow Mark's lawn regularly? Or are we talking about a specific one time thing? If it's a one time thing, is John mowing Mark's lawn to cover up something Luke did to it? |

Ok...are we talking like mob boss evil? Is he hiring John to kill people? (I know, irrelevant...) So he mows the lawn regularly. And Luke did something to the lawn, but John's not trying to cover it up. Will mowing the lawn enhance it? Or is whatever Luke did to the lawn irrelevant to mowing it, since John does that anyway? |

Ok...are we talking like mob boss evil? Is he hiring John to kill people? Neither - just a complete jerk to his employees. (I know, irrelevant...) So he mows the lawn regularly. And Luke did something to the lawn, but John's not trying to cover it up. Correct. Will mowing the lawn enhance it? Yope Or is whatever Luke did to the lawn irrelevant to mowing it, since John does that anyway? Well, sometimes John helps Luke do "it" to the lawn. |

So...drawing's not the right word either. Spraying? This is probably closest - see below Pouring? Painting? Pictures? Yope to this. To help clear things up, the "drawing" consisted of three of the same geometric shape, intended to represent something. Words? A message? Neither of these |

An arrow? A vector? (Not that I understand the significance of a vector or its difference from an arrow...) Neither. I meant the geometric shape...ARGH, I'm confusing myself. That means it's time for a RECAP: John, under instruction from his older brother Luke, sprays vinegar in three geometric shapes in a straight line in Mark's yard (Mark being his evil boss), and puts weed 'n' feed around it to emphasize the yellow grass. John is able to do this because he mows Mark's lawn. What the importance of this is has yet to be determined. HINT: The geometric shape is the common rectangle. |

Clarification: Is Mark John's boss or Luke's? Mark is John's boss. Costumes relevant? Reformation Day? Neither (What denomination are you, BTW?) Nondenominational Protestant, but the church I currently attend is affiliated with Southern Baptist. It's not a stereotypical So. Baptist church at all, though. Were the graves supposed to be of anyone in particular? Yesish/Yope John? Luke? Mark? Coworkers? Clients? None of these Are you one of the characters? No Anyone else relevant? [LTPF list of integers] additional people? The 3 people (HAM) whose graves these "supposedly" are, but that's it. Occupation relevant? No, but I will say that... If so, LTPF list? ...John is assistant manager at a store, and Mark is the owner. |

Are they tricking him into thinking: someone's buried in his yard? That his house is built on an ancient Indian burial ground? This one!! Or old graveyard? That something supernatural is going on? Are they trying to scare him? Very much so... **********SPOILER********** Luke is creating these grave-sized rectangles on the lawn as only one part of a massive prank on his brother's boss, Mark, who is a stereotypical evil boss. The puzzle statement? Well, when I first read the story, the prank had not been concluded yet, and it still has not been (at least, has been written down). So this caused me to wonder...if the prank went off without a hitch, I wonder if the boss moved out? And, of course, the obligatory link to the story. Kudos to Kaylee for most of the legwork and Galfisk for the leap, and to all of you... HAPPY (early) HALLOWEEN! |
