Did you hear the rest correctly? So that it'd be "woman with ____"? Is "sea hair" actually one single word? Is it "see" instead of "sea"? |

Hurrah a Mondegreen puzzle . If you scan some of the solved puzzles archive you'll see that we love a good mondegreen here. Is this a current song ? or one you heard as a child? Does the mondegreen occur during the chorus? Is it a pop song? rock? country? r&b? jazz? blues? other? Do you think it's likely that others have misheard these lyrics similarly to yourself? Just realised that you didn't actually say that it was you who had misheard the lyrics so I'm assuming it was? If not is it important that we find out who did? |

"Maria" (by Blondie)? Yes -----SPOILER------- I have heard of a person who misunderstood the phrase "Maria, you've got to see her" with "Maria, you've got the sea hair" which is really a very funny nonsense. Song Maria from Blondie. Good job for Balin, Peter and Kaylee

I understand that Spanish makes no distinction between a short "eh" and a long "ay," or "t" and "th," so I can see how you would get those confused. |

CLARIFICATION: By "ay," I mean as in the English word "say" and not the Spanish word "ay." |

If you can help me with my Spanish, I might be able to give you a hand with your English. "I have heard of a person this is correct, but sounds a bit formal; "I heard of someone" is what I would probably say who misunderstood the phrase 'Maria, you've got to see her' with the correct phrasing is "misunderstood x as y" and not "misunderstood x with y"; I can see how you would get confused, given phrases like "confuse x with y," "mix x with y," etc. 'Maria, you've got the sea hair' which is really a very funny nonsense "nonsense" is a mass noun, so we don't use indefinite articles like the word "a" with it. Song Maria from we say "[name] by [creator]" for all forms of art Blondie." (Si es demasiado difícil entender mi inglés, puedo traducir mis comentarios al español) |

Ey! Thanks a lot. I will take it into account. misunderstand x as y nonsense can not be treated as a single noun Maria by Blondie Claro que te puedo ayudar con tu español si quieres algún día podemos hablar, un rato en inglés, un rato en español Suerte |
