At UConn, there is a situation which in one way is similar to a situation described by a certain LTPF member in several puzzles. However, in another way, it is the complete opposite of that situation. What is this? |

Relevant that the two schools are rivals? No, but you're OTRT. I see my answer to the first question in the previous set is confusing. Perhaps it would be better off answered this way [Relevant] that it's played on Thanksgiving Day No every year? Yes That should probably make it more clear. Although this isn't the only part of how they're similar. I had combined this with the other relevant part (which you haven't figured out yet, into "Every year when the two teams play, XYZ happens" which is similar to the Big Bone Game |

Somewhat This was the all of the similar part "When UConn plays [an opponent you haven't determined] which is every year, they win, typically in blowout fashion". Now find the difference. And I could have sworn I posted this yesterday, but I guess I didn't. Strange. And for those wanting the UConn basketball schedule, it's at http://www.uconnhuskies.com/sports/m-baskbl/sched/conn-m-baskbl-sched.html |

The LTPF member in question was me, the game in question which is similar to your situation is the annual Big Bone Game held every Thanksgiving between the Abraham Lincoln High School Lions and the San Jose High Academy Bulldogs (Lincoln Lions and San Jose Bulldogs, for short) Lincoln has won every year for over a dozen years now, and I have done a few puzzles to this point. Your team has a winning streak as well, and the game is played in November, but not on Thanksgiving Day. Is there a certain day designated in November? A certain holiday? Or is it like "the third Thursday in November" (which would be the Little Bone game, for us, JV trying out their tricks in order to show they could play Varsity in a year or two)? |

I'm not sure it's relevant per se that his name is Jim Calhoun, but he is relevant. and he has coached the Huskies for 22 years running. This is not particularly relevant Is that particularly relevant? Relevant that Calhoun and the Huskies are reportedly under investigation for 8 major NCAA violations? No, and they're not under investigation any more because the investigation ended and UConn got put on sanctions. Look at more current sources next time :-) |

Does Calhoun have any connection at all with AI? With their basketball team? Did he go there? Bingo! And the fact is, the rest could be filled in simply by looking at old posts, so.. Play there? ****SPOILER***** In one respect, the annual UConn-AIC exhibition is similar to the Big Bone game because we play them every year and always beat them. However, unlike the Big Bone game, where the Bulldogs' coach went to the Kaylee's High School, our coach (Calhoun) went to AIC, which is the only reason we play them every year. Division I teams are permitted to play two exhibitions against DII teams at the beginning of the season. Most teams mix it up but we play AIC every year because of the Calhoun connection. |

LOL! Actually, the Big Bone coach turns out to NOT have gone to my high school (Abraham Lincoln High School)...that was just conjecture in my first puzzle on the topic. He DID, however, go to the local college where Kevin Collins, coach for the Lincoln Lions, coached BEFORE becoming Lincoln's football coach...so he was taught by Mr. Collins, just not at Lincoln. But still, a pretty clever puzzle :-) |
