Ok. this is a bit of a different type of puzzle. When she was younger, my sister had a scrund related tothe following four things. Your task is to figure out what that scrund was. The only connection you need to figure out between the four things is the scrund itself. But figuring out other connections might help you. Here they are My Grandmother Jerry Garcia My neighbor's dog The goldfish in my kindergarten classroom

Is your grandmother's name relevant? The dog's? The goldfish's? Jerry Garcia - relevant that he was missing a finger? Was part of the Grateful Dead? Had a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor named for him? |

Is your grandmother's name relevant? No, but if you want one, use her real one, Sylvia The dog's? No, but it was Shana The goldfish's? No, and I don't remember his name, so you can pick one Jerry Garcia - relevant that he was missing a finger? Was part of the Grateful Dead? Had a Ben & Jerry's ice cream flavor named for him? No to all. He was missing a finger? was your neighbour's dog missing a body part? your grandma? No to all |

I say we call the goldfish "Fish." I'm too tired to come up with anything else. Is your grandmother alive? The dog? The fish? |

Was the fish always the same fish? Or was it replaced over and over again? Longevity relevant? Or lack of it? |

Does it have to do with outward appearance? Maybe with the color of something? Are birthplaces relevant? Are abilities? Or habits? Or the liking of something? |

Is eating relevant? Sleeping? Arranging things? Hygiene (can't imagine that for a fish, but still... xD)? Doing something to music? Doing something before/during/after something else? And if so, as a kind of ritual, for no obvious reason? Is it, as far as you can tell, a common habit? Or something very specific? |

Isn't it one habit in particular but a set of bad habits? Or bad habits in general? |

Is the scrund about bad habits? Noish A certain bad habit? Noish Isn't it one habit in particular but a set of bad habits? Yesish: I'm going to clarify here so we don't get confused. There are four relevant habits, although one of them is only yopishly a habit. We can call them A, B, C, and D. A, B, and C are the ones which are bad habits, and D is yopishly a habit and could be called bad, but that's only yopishly true as well. Or bad habits in general? See above |

Do all the persons and animals you named have all four habits? Or only some or one of them? Or does... your Grandmother have habit A, Jerry Garcia have habit B, your neighbor's dog have habit C and the goldfish in your kindergarten classroom have habit D (not meaning D = the "bad" "habit", but just D = not A, B and C)? |

None of the above precisely. Grandmother Had Habits A and B Jerry Garcia had A and C The neighbor's dog didn't have any of them And the Goldfish had the yopishly bad yopish habit, which we are calling D. However, the above list is potentially deceiving, and considering it's a scrund, you should be able to figure out why. |

Remember... My sister had this scrund, not me. Answering questions based on her. Did you think any of them had habits which they didn't have? Yes to all except the goldfish Did have? Yes to all except the goldfish and the dog (who didn't have any of the habits, as we have already determined) |

Did she think they had the ones they didn't have? Vice versa? Both? She thought Grandma, Dog, and Jerry Garcia all had all four. She didn't think the Goldfish had any but the Goldfish yopishly having habit D is relevant. So now all you have to figure out is why she thought this. |

Are any of the habits that she though the deceased people/animals had habits they would have had before their deaths? Or after? A, B, and C would have been before. I'm not really sure how to classify D. But their deaths are very relevant. |

Was her scrund anything along the lines that "they're dead because they had habits A,B,andC?" |

Was her scrund anything along the lines that "they're dead because they had habits A,B,andC?" Pretty close. Close enough for a *****SPOILER****** So in 1997, my Grandma Sylvia died. And my mother explained that some of the factors in her death were that she drank alcohol and smoked cigarettes (habits A and B). Around the same time, Jerry Garcia died. My mother explained that he died because he drank alcohol and did drugs (habits A and C). Also, our neighbor's dog Shayna died, although she did none of those. Finally, I was appointed to feed the goldfish in my kindergarten classroom. My mom said "Don't feed them too much or they'll explode". And my sister said "So then what?" and my mom said "They die". So then Leanne (who was 3 at the time) had her moment of brilliance, saying "Grandma Sylvia, Jerry Garcia, and Shayna the dog all drank alcohol, smoked cigarettes, did drugs, and exploded". Which is completely hillarious if you ask me. Obviously, using her three-year-old mind she was thinking "If X then Y" means the same as "If Y then X" where X is either drinking alcohol, doing drugs, smoking cigarettes, or exploding, and Y is dying. We still laugh about this to this day. |

Or educate her about the perils of affirming the consequent. For example, the statement "if your parachute is faulty you'll plummet to your death" does not imply that merely not having a faulty parachute will guarantee survival. |
