Does this have to do with space travel? If physical movement, to do with a people moving device like an escalator or moving walkway? Does it involve being inside something else that would move, ie a car? Move as in, move from one residence to another? One job to another, or a new position in a company? |

Is a game or board game relevant here? Will you possibly get further because of something that will/could happen in the future (from the time the puzzle statement is "said")? Is the "goal" in a place other than where you are at the moment the puzzle statement is "said"? at the same place you are when it is "said"? or can the "goal" be accomplished anyplace? |

Inside something else that would move: A vehicle? An elevator? On some mode of transportation? In a structure that is moving? Going very meta, on a planet that is rotating? Moving vertically? Moving laterally? Does it matter? |

Is "backseat driving" involved? Student learner/driving lessons? Are other passengers relevant? Were you stopped in a parking lot, on a street, in a driveway? - relevant? Was the car on? In park? In neutral? Were you moving withing the car- ie front seat to back seat? Is light relevant? Fear? |

Was something wrong with your car? If so, did you have the chance of either driving to a person to fix your car or of having them come to you? And you went for the first option? Is an accident relevant? A traffic jam? |

Is it relevant where you are "getting a lot further" from? Can you actually get a lot further if you don't move? - Or does it just appear that way? Anything to do with the review mirrors? Any other specific components of the car? Is someone or something moving farther away from you while you stay still? |

And the tachometer is showing as it should the idling revs of the engine is it a GPS navigation system which appears to be registering movement? I don't know what a trip computer is versus a milage per gallon tracker/calculator but... Is it relevant that when you stop accelerating (take your foot off the gas), an MPG tracker will often show that you're getting 99 mpg or some other VERY high number? |

I don't know what a trip computer is versus a milage per gallon tracker/calculator but... Is it relevant that when you stop accelerating (take your foot off the gas), an MPG tracker will often show that you're getting 99 mpg or some other VERY high number? You are in the right area now so its time for a ************SPOILER**************** The trip computer on my car calculates, amongst other things the approximate distance of travel left with the fuel remaining in the tank, based on various factors such as current acceleration current fuel consumption etc. Therefore on starting the car the distance remaining shows the figure that was showing when the car was parked, based on fuel useage prior to switching the engine off. As the car is not using as much fuel when parked and running, the computer recalculates using the current engine conditions, and therefore the distance remaining increases. Whist watching this before setting off the distance remaining seemed to be increaseing every few seconds, seemingly meaning the less I moved the further I could get,in theory. Obviously not actually true but still an interesting concept. Thanks to you all for playing. |
