Have one in twenty done both? There's a connection, so it's probably more than that. What about both at the same time? Now that's just disturbing. Very disturbing. Ugh... Get that thought out of my mind! Explain my incoherent rambling |

Another rulebreaker? No Two sets of statistics that come out to 1 in 20? Yes, but please clarify by what you mean by "come out to" "one in twenty" = 5%? Yes, but for reasons I can't explain, it will be easier to think of it as one in twenty |

As in two separate statistics, both of which individually have the odds of 1 in 20? I suppose I should guess this as well (but it doesn't fit with your puzzle statement): Two separate statistics, for which the odds of BOTH happening is 1 in 20? IS there a literal 20 of something involved here? |

Can we call the two things Thing One and Thing Two please? Sure. is Thing One an activity? Yes for svv of "activity", I really wouldn't put it that way a state of mind? a physical state? Yes for svv of "physical state", but I really wouldn't put it that way either same questions for Thing Two please. Same, except "physical state" and "activity" are less of a stretch. |

DOYD of "state of being" The quality of abstaining from an activity? An idea? A rule? A law? What do you mean by "a law"? Do you mean the law itself or something related to the law? Because we're referring to people here and people are not laws, so no if it's the first, but a law is relevant. A personal value? As for Thing Two, attribute and state of being could be depending on what you mean, and laws are relevant once again. Posted on said status The one about looking up google in pig Latin? Not relevant? However, I just realized I made a blooper earlier, and that while it does refer to being sexually assaulted, there is another detail to it. OK, so let me try and recap what we know so far: 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted at college. 1 in 4 (women? men? people?) have done some thing Y. Combining the two, it could theoretically be proposed that 1 in 20 could have been sexually assaulted while doing thing Y, which I suspect would be disturbing, both in actuality and conceptuality. This good? |

OK, so let me try and recap what we know so far: 1 in 5 women will be sexually assaulted at college. Yes 1 in 4 (women? men? people?) have done some thing Y. It was either college students in general or students at UConn, I can't remember. Otherwise, yes Combining the two, it could theoretically be proposed that 1 in 20 could have been sexually assaulted while doing thing Y, which I suspect would be disturbing, both in actuality and conceptuality. Not exactly. It could be theoretically proposed that 1 in 20 have been sexually assaulted and done thing Y, not necessarily at the same time. However, if it was at the same time, it would be disturbing. This good? Other than my notes, yes Is Y underage drinking? No, but oTRT Also, I'm sort of cringing now hoping this is going to an okay place as you sort of squicked me the minute we got to sexual assault as fodder for a puzzle. yeah, I realized a week or so ago that it might not be appropriate. And now I'm having more and more doubts about how appropriate it is. So if you want me to abort this puzzle now, that's fine by me. But if you want to finish it, that's fine too.
