Sarah was happy she was two years younger than her sister Lisa. But their older brother Jacob was the happiest of them all. |

Was Jacob the happiest because he is the oldest? Or was the reason an entirely different one? Would Sarah also be happy if she was only one year younger than Lisa? Three years? Is Sarah HCF? HTF? HAF? Is Lisa HCF? HTF? HAF? Is Jacob HCM? HTM? HAM? Any of these relevant? School? Work? Allowance? Money in general? Staying up? Going out? Driving? Dating? Sports? Any kind of competition? Cigarettes/alcohol? Being allowed to vote? Parents being more tolerant to the youngest? Moving out? Taxes? Retirement? |

Is having a job relevant? Does Jacob work full-time? And thus earns more than his siblings? Does Lisa work part-time? Does Lisa need/want clothes/an item/a makeover/a trip soon? And her parents won't buy it for her? And Sarah doesn't need the thing Lisa wants? Would she need it as well once she's as old as Lisa? Did Jacob need it when he was Lisa's age? Does Sarah not have to work part-time? Are the parents more willing to pay things for Sarah? Is Sarah too young to work? Relevant how old the siblings are exactly? |

Age has nothing to do with this? Is it because Sara gets more love and Jacob gets more money? Age is just a misleading path? Are Sarah and Lisa very young as compared to their brother? Does Jacob love Sarah more? |

Is it a bodily function? Such as: Sarah doesn't need a bra yet; Lisa wants dental braces and Sarah doesn't; or maybe the menstrual cycle? |

Such as: Sarah doesn't need a bra yet; Lisa wants dental braces and Sarah doesn't; or maybe the menstrual cycle? no, but you're definitely OTRT (on the right track) Oh, I meant to add: And Jacob is happy because he needs none of these things? this is very OTRT, Jacob is happy because he doesn't need something. |

So is this something that men (or most men) never need? but adult women do need? Is this "need" for as physical thing? or is it rather needing to do something? like having to cover up part of the body on a warm day? |

So, Jacob is happy because he doesn't need the vaccination, can't get cervical cancer in the first place, and earns money? Is Lisa unhappy because she has to get the vaccination? And is afraid of needles? Or because she is too old for her insurance to pay for the vaccination? And Sarah is happy because she is too young for the vaccination? Or because she is young enough for her insurance to pay for it? |

So, Jacob is happy because he doesn't need the vaccination, yes can't get cervical cancer in the first place yes, and earns money? irrel or no Is Lisa unhappy because she has to get the vaccination? no And is afraid of needles? no Or because she is too old for her insurance to pay for the vaccination? yes And Sarah is happy because she is too young for the vaccination? no Or because she is young enough for her insurance to pay for it? yes - We have everything we need for the ********SPOILER******** The puzzle is about getting a HPV vaccination. HPV is one of the main causes of cervical cancer so that the vaccination is recommended for teenage girls and young women. In Germany, it's currently covered by health insurance for girls aged 12 to 17. Sarah is 16 years old, so she won't have to pay for the vaccination. Her sister Lisa is 18 years old, and since her parents are against vaccinations they make her daughter pay for it. Jacob, being a boy, does not have to worry about getting the vaccination at all. This went faster than expected - great work, folks! (: |

Um, not to be a pain, but both HPV vaccines have been approved for use in boys as well as girls since 2009. While complications from HPV are less common in boys, the vaccine does protect boys against genital warts, penile cancer, and anal cancer by preventing lesions caused by HPV in males. |

Vesica - that's why I said "yope" to "So is this something that men (or most men) never need?". In Germany, it's still considered a girls' vaccination and it's usually administered by gynaecologists. There are no mandatory vaccines in Germany, but we do have strong recommendations - the HPV vaccine is currently recommend for girls only. |

Doriana, what a brilliant puzzle. It's difficult, but basic facts are available, and best of all, it reminds us to think about ourselves and our families. OH, and thanks for the welcome! (I published a story once in which the lady had your name. Yay!) Cheers from rainy Miami, Fiona |
