A woman engages in a helpful daily practice; however, it would cost her less to perform one action that would prove much more helpful. |

Woman = H/A/F? Is she real? Fictional? True story? FYOI? FSEI? With the above caveats in mind, would it be helpful (and permissible) for me to invoke the relevant LTPF lists of: Continents? Countries? Centuries? Decades? |

She popular? Celebrity? Publicity relevant? Any other person relevant? Many people come to help when she start some doing some help? e.g she started some donation organisation in which she donated a small amount and got a lot of donation and gave it to someone and this made them think that she only gave the whole donation. Daily practice like everyone do at home? |

Is this a practice that most WOMEN do every day? Men? That a certain kind of person does most every day? You said eating was relevant... Is a particular meal relevant? Food production (like growing it, hunting it..)? Food preparation? Is it relevant where in the pre to 1900s US she is living? Eastern US? Midwest? Western frontier? You mention her daily practice AND another action... To confirm - these are not the same actions, yes? Can we call them DP and OA? Is the OA something many people do? Does the OA cost less in terms of money? In terms of time? In terms of energy used? |

Is this a practice that most WOMEN do every day? Men? That a certain kind of person does most every day? It's something that some people would do every day and others would never do. It's mainly done by adults. (OK, technically only one part of her action applies to the conditions I just mentioned. The other part is something that people typically never do.) You said eating was relevant... Is a particular meal relevant? Yes but not necessarily what you're thinking. Food production (like growing it, hunting it..)? No Food preparation? Yes Is it relevant where in the pre to 1900s US she is living? Yes but I won't say anything... Eastern US? ...other than this. Midwest? Western frontier? You mention her daily practice AND another action... To confirm - these are not the same actions, yes? Correct Can we call them DP and OA? OK Is the OA something many people do? No Does the OA cost less in terms of money? YES In terms of time? Yope In terms of energy used? Yope does she refrain from eating meat? Can we call her Julie? Does Julie's "helpful daily practice" help her: Health? Finances? In her career? A relationship? Her education? Enhance her physical appearance? Is her job relevant? Does she have one? Does she live in an urban area? Suburban? Rural? Is her age relevant? The relvant HAM - May we call him Cal? Is Cal related to Julie? Father? Brother? Son? In a relationship with Julie? Husband? Does he know Julie? Do he and Julie live in the same place? Does he do the "DP"? Is his profession relevant? His age? The fact he is male relevant? Does she know that it would cost her less to perform OA, and that this OA would prove much more helpful? Does OA involve a third person? Are Julie and Cal living in different cities? Distance relevant? Is it relevant to find out the specific town/state Julie/Cal live? So Julie prepares food for Cal, but not at her home, right? So no Did Cal and these people No get in this place accidentally? Yope HINT: Cal is isolated because he has no regular contact (except for his wife bringing in food). The other people he is in contact with are only for a limited amount of time. And -- big hint -- remember that transportation is relevant. |

Oh, I was SO sure that the answer would be: Julie has a cat, and it would cost her less to put her cat outside rather than buy kitty litter. (JK!) I'm interested in the place. You hinted that it either IS or is NOT in the Eastern USA. Will it help if we guess at the exact locality, rather than guessing at a type of facility? Is Cal an astronaut? a really busy morgue attendant? a scientist? who specializes in helping developing countries to make their own food? Is it important whether Cal and/or Julie live in a place where they have regular mail delivery? |

Would Cal be able to leave this place? (in other words: is he staying there voluntarily?) Did he make a pledge to be in this place? Is he there because of the people he interacts with? Do they benefit from the interaction with Cal? (or does at least Cal think so?) Does Cal benefit from the interaction with this people? Does he earn money this way? Is Cal in this place in order to fulfil a task? Is he searching (or waiting) for somebody in this place? As you said "no" with respect to whether Julie and Cal are living in different cities: Are they living in the same city? Is Cal not living in a city? Is he living in different places? Does he spent a lot of his time in a means of transport? (but does not work as a bus driver or tram driver, as you said it's not his place of work?) Is Cal's place of work relevant, nevertheless? |

Yes, yes, yes!!! =( iz sillee! why iz nawt doez dat? doez nawt want him bak? o.O My question exactly. **********SPOILER********** Well, let me tell you of the story Of a man named Charlie On a tragic and fateful day; He put ten cents in his pocket, Kissed his wife and family, Went to ride on the M. T. A. But did he ever return? No, he never returned, And his fate is still unlearned. (Poor old Charlie) He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston, He's the man who never returned. Charlie handed in his dime At the Kendall Square station, And he changed for Jamaica Plain. When he got there the conductor told him, "One more nickel." Charlie couldn't get off of that train. But did he ever return... Now all night long Charlie rides through the station, Crying, "What will become of me? How can I afford To see my sister in Chelsea Or my cousin in Roxbury?" But did he ever return... Charlie's wife goes down To the Scully Square station Every day at quarter past two. And through the open window She hands Charlie a sandwich As the train comes rumbling through. But did he ever return... Now, you citizens of Boston, Don't you think it's a scandal How the people have to pay and pay? Fight the fare increase, Vote for George O'Brien! Get poor Charlie off the M. T. A! Or else he'll never return No, he'll never return, And his fate is still unlearned. (Poor old Charlie) He may ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston, He's the man who never returned, He's the man who never returned, He's the man who never returned. I've always wondered why Charlie's wife didn't just give him another nickel; not only would it have cost less than all the sandwiches, but it would've gotten him off the MTA. Nice work everyone. By the way, the song is called "M. T. A." and the most well-known recording is by the Kingston Trio. Here's a recording that skips the third verse: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VMSGrY-IlU |
