Does the activity require the use of: hands? Feet? Eyes? Ears? Nose? Can an ape do it? A cow? A snake? Does it require an object? Can it be done inside? In a tree? Underground? In bed? In the dark? In a boat? By a goat? Is it something most grownups have done? Is it done regularly? Can it be done alone? Is it done for fun? Relaxation? Is it annoying? Has anyone died from doing it? Or while doing it? Does it take: seconds? Minutes? Hours? Can it be done underwater? Is water involved? |

Not that I mind. :P you're right about that :D Does the activity require the use of: hands? usually this Feet? Eyes? this-ish Ears? Nose? Can an ape do it? no A cow? no A snake? no Does it require an object? yes Can it be done inside? yes In a tree? depends on something, but it's unlikely that someone would do it on a tree Underground? see previous answer In bed? yes In the dark? yes, but it would be more difficult In a boat? maybe, depends on something By a goat? noez Is it something most grownups have done? no Is it done regularly? some do it regularly, some don't Can it be done alone? yes, and it usually is Is it done for fun? some do it for fun Relaxation? some do it for relaxation Is it annoying? the result can be annoying Has anyone died from doing it? unknown, but probably not Or while doing it? unknown Does it take: seconds? Minutes? Hours? minutes to hours Can it be done underwater? no Is water involved? no Summing up your questions: - animals can't do this - an object is involved, and you need your hands and usually your eyes to do it - it's usually done inside and alone, but it can be done in other places under specific circumstances - it usually takes minutes to hours - it's unknown but unlikely that anyone has ever died from it |

Searching on the Internet relevant? If so, searching for people? For various topics? Are real people being literally killed? Or just disappearing from a virtual world? You said computers are relevant -- are also smartphones / pads etc. relevant, or only computers as such? If the latter does it matter: access to the internet? Memory? HD capacity? Their physical characteristics (being somehow hard to transport, etc)? |

There are two relevant the statistics, the first one is correct-ish and was published online. The second one is not correct and makes it look as if death rates had risen. Ok, so you have one stat showing that a search for "death by blogging" (or similar) gets a certain amount of result on google. Do you infer the other stat from this alone? Or from this and other "death by" search result numbers? "Death by blogging" results in several searches over a period of time? |

So was the original statistic announcing the number of Google hits for "Blog Death" (or something)? And you've done the same Google now and returned a hugely larger number of hits? |

Was the first search result published on the web? Copied by lots of people? Meaning new searches for "death by blogging" leads to lots of websites mentioning the previous search? |

Was the first search result published on the web? Copied by lots of people? Meaning new searches for "death by blogging" leads to lots of websites mentioning the previous search? YEEEES! ********SPOILER******** The puzzle is based on this xkcd comic. He googled "Died in a ____ accident" and got two results for "Died in a blogging accident". But by now, this comic has been re-blogged and posted thousands of times so that you get more than 16,000 results - so, blogging death rates have(n't) risen exponentially (; Thanks for your patience, everyone! |
