If the spies had delivered their false report a week earlier, then thousands of years later the verse would have impacted many people.

At request, my question:

The puzzle title, plus the reference to a false report and a verse, leads me to Numbers 13. Is this part of the solution?

The puzzle title, plus the reference to a false report and a verse, leads me to Numbers 13. Is this part of the solution? Yesish or yes (actually, in contradiction to my earlier email, probably more like yesishish or yesish). But this could lead to an FA as to its relevance (hence one of the -ishes). Additionally, as a hint: I'm not going to be responding to this puzzle (or any other puzzle on this forum, for that matter) this Saturday. Bear that in mind when guessing.

Jewish holidays relevant? Yes, but... Isn't Yom Kippur coming up? Yom Kippur is only relevant in that it establishes I'm Jewish. However, another Jewish holiday is relevant.

Rosh Hashanah? Hanukkah? No. You probably won't have heard of this if you're not Jewish, so I'll allow limited use of Googlepedia, in exchange for not allowing the [LTPF List of Jewish Holidays].

Well, Yom Kippur does begin on Saturday, but Saturday's also Shabbat/the Sabbath day (although every Saturday is that...Friday at sundown to sundown on Saturday, I think?) Googlepedia does not help the confused kaylee kitteh much, mr. coke...

Noahide powers activate!

Sukkot relevant? Going with the idea of Numbers 13, is the fruit harvest relevant?

The spies that went into Canaan? this Into Jericho? That was Joshua 2, as I recall. If so, irr.

Well, Yom Kippur does begin on Saturday, but Saturday's also Shabbat/the Sabbath day (although every Saturday is that...Friday at sundown to sundown on Saturday, I think?) Googlepedia does not help the confused kaylee kitteh much, mr. coke... Yom Kippur is irrelevant. That was meant as a hint to establish that I was Jewish, which is relevant in various other ways.

Is the relevant holiday mentioned in the Bible? Jewish Bible (Tanakh, roughly corresponding to the Christian Old Testament): Not directly, but it is alluded to in various places. Christian New Testament: I highly doubt it's referenced directly, though it could be vaguely alluded to indirectly. I'm not sure how to explain it better without giving too much away.

Are we OTWT in assuming the relevant holiday is around this time of year? Yes. But if you're not Jewish, I doubt you've heard of it anyway. Which is why I'm letting you use Googlepedia instead of the LTPF List.

Hint: Unless you're Jewish, you're going to have to identify the Holiday first and then find out how Numbers 13 is relevant. If you're Jewish, the former may lead you to the latter and if not, then you too will have to do that.

Ten Days of Repentance?
Feast of Tabernacles?
Simchat Torah? All on the wrong track... It's not part of the High Holidays. As as a hint (which probably won't help unless you're Jewish), a part of the Yom Kippur service is laterally relevant to the relevance of Numbers 13.

Actually, scratch that. The relevance isn't lateral at all. Which in a way, makes it irrelevant. In other words, it's directing you to Numbers 13 (which is relevant) but we already know it's relevant. So nevermind, though if you get the reference, feel free to point it out.

Also, you still have an FA about the relevance of Numbers 13. But I won't address it until it comes up.

Slight blooper: There are two Jewish holidays which are relevant. One isn't truly a "holiday" per se but more of an observance. The other is the one you've been guessing at.
