Because of a famous president, a certain spice is not allowed in my room. My=mine=kyeannpeppers This is my first ever lateral puzzle I've posted to this forum, so if it's really hard/easy, I'm sorry! The fact that I thought it up kinda late at night will probably contribute. |

Hey, don't worry, we were all new once! =) this looks awesome! famous president = A U.S. president? other countries have presidents, or have had them, I expect =) it seems like a good idea to check! Is the spice commonly used in specific cuisines, and rare in others, or is it common in everyday use (black pepper, cinnamon?) is it derived from a berry? a root? a leaf? a fruit? could it more accurately be called an herb? |

um, let's see if the Animaniacs are any help... ...it's William McKinley up to bat Teddy Roosevelt charged up San Juan Hill And President Taft, he got the bill In 1913 Woodrow Wil... son takes us into WW1 Warren Harding next in line Is Calvin Coolidge he does fine and then in 1929 The market crashes and we find It's Herbert Hoover's big debut he gets the blame and loses to Franklin Roosevelt president who helped us win in WW2 Harry Truman weird little human Serves two terms and when he's done It's Eisenhower who's got the power from '53 to '61 John Kennedy had Camelot Then Lyndon Johnson took his spot Richard Nixon, he got caught And Gerald Ford fell down a lot Jimmy Carter liked campaign trips And Ronald Reagan's speeches' scripts All came from famous movie clips And President Bush said "read my lips" Now in Washington DC There's Democrats and the GOP But the ones in charge are plain to see The Clintons Bill and Hillary (President McKinley *barely* counts as a 20th century President, having finished his term in 1901. But I wasn't taking chances.) |

Hehe, kittehspeek, yay. You did that right. =) Also, Animaniacs are/were a cartoon that was very popular in the 90's at least. I watched them a lot in elementary and middle school. You can find many, many Animaniacs clips on YouTube, including "The Presidents Song", which I was referencing. Balin linked to it on another puzzle recently, though I forget just which one. One of his, I think. |

Is cayenne pepper not allowed only in your bedroom? but maybe allowed in other rooms of your apartment/house/of the house you live in? Not allowed: forbidden by law? you would not allow others to bring cayenne pepper there? others do not allow you to bring it there? Does this involve: fresh cayenne pepper? dried cayenne pepper? chili powder? chili sauce? capsicum plants? |

I'm not sure if that made sense or not...*shrugs* And here's that Animaniacs clip: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vvy0wRLD5s8 Are FDR's initials relevant? yope such a fun word...yope. His polio? FDR's hometown relevant? Do you live in Pearl Harbor? Hyde Park, NY? no to all Is cayenne pepper not allowed only in your bedroom? yes but maybe allowed in other rooms of your apartment/house/of the house you live in? correct. for the sake of brevity, it is a house. Not allowed: forbidden by law? you would not allow others to bring cayenne pepper there? this one and... others do not allow you to bring it there? this one Does this involve: fresh cayenne pepper? dried cayenne pepper? chili powder? chili sauce? capsicum plants? none of the above, although capsicum plants comes closest. not very close though. remember what i said...only one small part of the president and the spices are relevant... |

RECAP: Franklin is my pet hamster. For reasons yet to be determined, cayenne pepper is no longer allowed in my room, thanks to this very pet. However, Franklin has never encountered cayenne pepper (at least not to the best of my knowledge). Also, cayenne pepper wasn't always banned. We also know that almost nothing is relevant about cayenne pepper. |

***************SPOILER*************** I am petsitting a hamster named Franklin, who lives in my room. I also have a dachshund named Kye Ann Pepper. Now, Kye would bark at Franklin if she were to come in my room. Therefore, the certain spice was my dog (who is colored exactly like cayenne pepper, hence the name), and the president is the hamster (Wait...I just said that the president is a hamster, didn't I....Only on the LTPF!). |
