The wostmo feeling: something that can be felt at any time? Season specific? Daytime? Nighttime? At home? At work? Outside? Can it be felt by anyone? More likely to be experienced by men? women? children? adults? poor people? rich people? people in a particular profession? Of a certain nationality? Have you felt it? Would I be likely to have felt it? Would most people? |

Balin Wish -- for an object? Event? This Person? At a specific time? Event? This Occasion? Birthday wishes relevant? Blowing out candles? Jondahr The wostmo feeling: something that can be felt at any time? Yope. Explore. Season specific? No Daytime? Yes Nighttime? Yes At home? No At work? Depends on your job, but for most jobs, no Outside? Noish Can it be felt by anyone? No More likely to be experienced by men? women? children? adults? No difference between sexes and ages poor people? Poor people would be less likely rich people? people in a particular profession? Yope, but better don't focus on that too much Of a certain nationality? Nationalities irrelevant Have you felt it? Yes Would I be likely to have felt it? I think so Would most people? Same here Chek101 Is it a happy feeling? A bit of this Sad feeling? Lonely feeling? Is it a GOOD feeling? Hmm... Possibly, at least at the beginning... A BAD feeling? ...but it can develop into this. Is it a feeling of expectation? Yes Anger? Maybe a bit of this, too Vengence? Is it a feeling of desperation? Love? Hate? Jealousy? Bitterness? Greed? Desire? Is it a feeling of loss? Is it a feeling that accompanies an illness like say dizziness, nausea, cramps? |

Is it something anyone would long for, or wish to obtain, or does it encompass something that is a thing desired by a select few or common to all? Such as an artist would desire to paint for example? Does it require a large surface area to be obtainable? Small surface area? Does it encompass wealth? Sports? Academics? This "wostmo" thing, I don't know what that is or means. Is it a part of the code language used on this board? Or did you just make it up? Am I allowed to know what it is or is that part of the puzzle to figure out what it means? |

Chek, this puzzle's a neologistic puzzle, so Potato made a "word" and we have to figure out what its definition is. =) I'm truly stumped by this one, though, lol! It may or may not be an acronym, but most neologisms seem to be. |

So is this wostmo feeling disappointment, then? Maybe something like in the movie, "The Monkey's Paw" where the wish was granted but in a twisted way that really turned out to be bad for the person who made the wish? |

So is this wostmo feeling disappointment, then? See below Maybe something like in the movie, "The Monkey's Paw" where the wish was granted but in a twisted way that really turned out to be bad for the person who made the wish? Hmm... not really, no To prevent a possible FA, there are actually two stages of the situation involving the wostmo: At first, you think that something happens that you've wished for. And then you realize that this didn't really happen. This can be accompanied by anger, frustration, disappointment and pretty much everything else that can come with a your-hopes-are-shattered situation. The actual wostmo, however, is what creates the (erroneous) thought that the wish came true. The realization that wostmo happened leads to the realization that the wish didn't come true (and, by the way, also to a bit of a WTF moment, at least for me xD). |

Is it a pastime or hobby thing? Did you hope for this thing for yourself or for others? Was this a haphazard wish or an earnest deep desire to see it come true? If it came true, would it have improved your relationship with someone else? I know it's not about wealth, but is money involved in anyway? Like a pay raise, or a job promotion? Could it be about wishing to be in another profession? Going some where common folk may never get to go like say to the President's Ball tho not specifically that? Is this thing that you wished for possible for you to obtain without wishing for it? Does it have anything to do with where you live? Want to live? It is of evidential importance? Would its coming true be proof of something you may have had a bet on? Did gambling even enter into it? Did it involve science? Did it blow you away when it did not come out the way you expected? Is photography involved? |

It was an earnest wish in that situation. If it came true, would it have improved your relationship with someone else? No I know it's not about wealth, but is money involved in anyway? By 'blown away:" possibly something like you had not anticipated that it WOULD NOT come true and so the let down would be more severe. Did you naturally assume it would? Was any kind of award involved? Or reward? Did it involve "time" as one would wish for another ten minutes to complete a test, though not meaning a test here. Anything to do with weather? Heat or cold? Did it involve a ceremony of sorts? Was there something you wanted to learn? Did patience have anything to do with it? An accomplishment? Would anyone else notice that you got your wish? Would they naturally assume that you would wish for this? Or it doesn't matter what others think or see regarding this wish? Since eye sight is important, did you wish for better eye sight. Or maybe there was something you didn't see abut should have and therefore wished you had seen it the first time? Were you SUPPOSED to notice something? This event, it is not job related? Health related? |

Did you naturally assume it would? Hm, no, not really. Was any kind of award involved? No Or reward? No Did it involve a ceremony of sorts? No Was there something you wanted to learn? No Did patience have anything to do with it? YES An accomplishment? Or it doesn't matter what others think or see regarding this wish? No. I could experience wostmo without anyone around and the result would be the same for me. Since eye sight is important, did you wish for better eye sight. No Or maybe there was something you didn't see abut should have and therefore wished you had seen it the first time? No Were you SUPPOSED to notice something? No This event, it is not job related? Right * Health related? No *) I know I mentioned jobs earlier. For me and in general, wostmo is not job-related, but some people are more likely than others to experience wostmo due to their workplace. |

Is the wostmo feeling satisfaction? A feeling of superiority? A sense of achievement? Did it have anything to do with how you look? How you appear to others? How you appear to yourself? How you want to look? Would you WANT others to notice you got your wish? Is mirrors important in this? Does reading something matter? Is this wish a thing expected to be typically accomplished by you? Is it even a typical wish for you? Or out of the ordinary? Or just one precipitated by an unusual set of circumstances? |

RECAP: Wostmo is something that can be experienced in a train or tram, but only under specific circumstances. To a lesser extent, it can also be experienced in a bus. Wostmo first makes you think that something you wished for (and expected to happen) came true, but when you realize that wostmo happened, you will also realize that in fact, the wish did not come true at all. Seeing things is very relevant but the time of day is not. |

********** SPOILER ********** Wostmo is the feeling that the train in which you're in is moving although it's actually the train next to yours that's moving into the opposite direction and your train is in fact still standing. Wostmo stands for "When opposite side train moves" and I wonder if maybe part of the reason for this phenomenon is the wish that your own train gets going at last. Nice work, everyone! |

Nice puzzle! The most peculiar feeling is when the wostmo suddently stops, and the expected jerk from coming to a sudden stop is missing. I'm wondering if it would be possible to exploit this in some kind of carnival ride. Something similar to a wostmo can happen when working at a conveyor belt, sudently it seems like the belt is stationary and the world is moving. |
