At late hours: late in the morning? late in the afternoon? simply not keeping his schedule?

The benefit that you obtain from this -- is it the fact that you have more room to do your own things? To work more professionally, without pressure applied? Some other thing?

Is he otherwise relevant (besides being your boss) -- like his personal behavior, his likes and dislikes in sports, etc?

At late hours: late in the morning? This late in the afternoon? Or this. simply not keeping his schedule? No.

The benefit that you obtain from this -- is it the fact that you have more room to do your own things? No. To work more professionally, without pressure applied? No. Some other thing? Yes.

Is he otherwise relevant (besides being your boss) -- like his personal behavior, his likes and dislikes in sports, etc? There is one relevant information, yes. But nothing like given examples.

Is it relevant to ask whether you two:
work in the same building?
work in the same home?
work in the same area, but occasionally in different buildings?

Do you know enough about your boss's private life to be able to guess when he will, or might be, late?

Do you know enough about your boss to know what might make his schedule different, such as meetings uptown, or out of town, or the like? Relevant?

Does your boss rely upon taxis? Or a lift from a friend? Or a train or subway, which might make exact times of arrival difficult?

Do you suspect that your boss is lazy about his getting-to-work-time?

Okay, I've solved it! You both work at a zoo. If he's late, that means he's out gathering foodstuffs for the animals, and that means you can spend more time giving your favorite animals special treats.

work in the same area, but occasionally in different buildings? b{No.}

Do you know enough about your boss's private life to be able to guess when he will, or might be, late? No, but I can check his working schedules. If he starts his first contract late, then he comes to work late.

Do you know enough about your boss to know what might make his schedule different, such as meetings uptown, or out of town, or the like? Sometimes. Relevant? No. It doesn't matter whether I know his schedule or not. I am happy every time he is not in the office in the morning.

Does your boss rely upon taxis? Or a lift from a friend? Or a train or subway, which might make exact times of arrival difficult? No to all.

Do you suspect that your boss is lazy about his getting-to-work-time? Yes I do, but irrelevant.

RECAP:
Recently, when it's cold outside, I am very happy when my boss has his work scheduled for late hours and therefore he's not in the office in the morning. It's cold in the office and turning on the heating is relevant. When my boss is out, I am able to reach the acceptable temperature in my room. However, I am not more cold-sensible than my boss and my boss doesn't save energy on heating. It's very important that we work in different rooms of the same office. My boss doesn't forbid me to use the heating.

When he is at office, do you benefit from the heater's warmth? Or it is confined to his office?

When he comes early, does he turn off the heater sooner (presumably after his office is warm enough)?

Are there any other (electric?) heaters outside his office? (In the room that you work, for example?) Relevant? If yes, is it because of economy reasons? Some other reasons? Relevant?

Is he doing anything else with the heater other than turning it on and off? (Moving it, regulating its temperature, some other thing relevant?)

Relevant? I don't know the reasons, but there are two electric heaters in the place - one in his office, and the other one beneath my desk.

Is he doing anything else with the heater other than turning it on and off? (Moving it, regulating its temperature, some other thing relevant?) No, just turning on and off, maybe regulating temperature. Only turning it on is relevant.

is there a limited electricity supply? Probably this. number of sockets? extension cables?

*********SPOILER***************
I don't know why, but when only me and my boss have heaters turned on, the whole electricity in the office immediately goes off. That's why I am in winter very happy when my boss has his work scheduled on late hours - I begin at 9.00 every day and I have much time to warm my office before he comes to work. The curious thing is, that if my heater is moved to any other room, the two heaters may well be on at the same time and nothing happens...

Thanks for playing and special congrats to Rbruma and Shez for bringing this puzzle to an end.
