And can we call him Delawail? Sorry, I needed a name to rhyme. Oh by the way [LTPF list of eras/times]? Is this story really true? Let us guess, don't yet give a clue! Was the home he laid in his own? And did he die there? Was he alone? If not, were people there when he was found? Or just when he was heaven-bound? Or course, this assumes he doesn't go to hell. The bullet, though, was not a dud; The gunshot caused a loss of blood. Because of the blaze, he passed away, But if not would he have died anyway? Did a fire alarm make a sound that startled him into firing a round Or was firing the bullet that failed to miss 'im caused by some other fire safety system, Would his type of crime happen to be that one that abbreviated as B&E to the deceased did the gun belong? or was stealing it one of his deeds so wrong? Was anyone else in the house a man a woman or even a mouse I'm pretty sure this has not been asked but when he died was the dead man masked? | ||

Yes, the fellow deceased did a crime that you've found; He was simply a burglar, now burnt on the ground. The gun was the owner's, but here's something fun; Our dead guy had failed to steal the gun. Was anyone else in the house a man a woman or even a mouse I'm pretty sure this has not been asked but when he died was the dead man masked? No one else was inside, as I'm sure you can tell, And "the burglar was masked"? That is simply Irrel. | ||

I have to say both Yes and No. (It's not a contradiction though.) Was the heat source one most have in a house? And did the fire he try to douse? And wait, I have one question more- Did he drop the gun on the floor? The source of heat is common in A home or dwelling. Had he been Aware and conscious, he'd have doused The flame that did burn up the house, But since his conscious state was "out," The fire just roared and burned about. But then things got a bit off track? Before he fell into his grave, Did he try the microwave? Perhaps the stove or toaster oven? Something else that belonged to McLovin? He planned to heat his tasty snacks; Before he could, the gun attacks. He'd put the veggie on the stove, The other would be cooked in cove Of oven. But before he could, The gun went off and got him good. And so these snacks of veg and meat he was in fact unable to eat? The FA's cleared; he never ate, For from the fire, he now is "late." Did the snack he dreamt of eating burn up fast while it was heating? Somehow the gun was fired next? I admit, I am perplexed! The gun went off a bit before The fire burnt up the walls and floor. And yes, one snack did burn and start The heated flames which stopped his heart. | ||

These types of puzzles, I suppose, I've shunned because I lack the nose For poetry. I'm bent, instead, toward prose. But following the train of question And the answer (or should I say "direction") I see why these merit such affection. Redwine's thinking is in line With many others and also mine A gun in the stove? Yes, seems just fine. So if this solves the puzzle, I expect Another puzzler with great intellect (Which includes you) to interject More puzzles like this while I perfect My skill at rhyming redirect. | ||

He went to rob McLovin's dwelling, And hoped to find some goods for selling. But soon his hunger became telling, And irresistible, compelling. So then he grabbed a frozen piz- za loaded up with cheese and meats. Because he knew his way with eats, He set the oven to preheat...s. And then he found a can of beans. (His mother said, "Son, eat your greens!") He threw them in a pan so clean(s) And tossed them on the stove machine...s With just a splotch of oil. But wait! He didn't know, at any rate, That in the oven was his fate: A loaded gun, a .38. (The homeowner had hid it there With dutiful and special care So burglars wouldn't take his ware And in its place leave normal air.) Recall the oven set "preheat"? The gun did quickly heat up (neat!) And fire. The bullet quickly beat A path into his calf's lean meat. So Delawail lost blood at royal Rate, and quickly fainted. Oil In pan on stove began to boil And lit up like a Tesla coil. Since Delawail was knocked out cold, The fire spread fast, burned bright and bold, And scorched his body uncontrolled. So now he's dead; his tale's been told. These types of puzzles, I suppose, I've shunned because I lack the nose For poetry. I'm bent, instead, toward prose. But following the train of question And the answer (or should I say "direction") I see why these merit such affection. Redwine's thinking is in line With many others and also mine A gun in the stove? Yes, seems just fine.
