Political considerations have changed the way Minerva signs her name. How come? Feminism is not relevant.

Is Minerva HAF? Age relevant? Location? If so, [LTPF list of countries]? Is era important? Does she write using standard utensils i.e. Pen, Paper? If not, does she use a quill? Parchment? Ink wells?

Is it the first name or last name that is relevant? or the combination?
She used to sign herself Minnie but now uses the full given name, or vice versa?

(BTW, where do you get the names for your puzzle characters? From your students? or from a 'what to name the baby' book?)

Middle names relevant? Abbreviation of names, eg to a single letter, relevant? Would it help to find out Minerva's political views? Is a particular political figure relevant? A political issue? A political event (eg an election?) Are US politics particularly relevant?

She used to sign herself Minnie but now uses the full given name, or vice versa? no

(BTW, where do you get the names for your puzzle characters? It varies, but usually just from general knowledge about names}From your students? Never--that would be unfair to them or from a 'what to name the baby' book? rarely)

did she sign with her job title? her intitials?

her husband's name? (in my own lifetime women were still calling themselves Mrs John Smith - well, only if they were married to someone called John Smith, otherwise that would be bizarre!)

Is the handwriting relevant? Would she also have changed the way she typed her name at the end of a letter, for example?
Did she deliberately change the way she signs her name? By changing it, does she imply support for a particular political standpoint? Would she have done so had she not changed the way she signed it? Is she making a point?

Would she sign her name in the different way any time she signed it? Only in particular circumstances?

Is she left-wing? Right-wing? Is the political issue a social one? Economic? Environmental? Moral?

Does she change what she actually writes? Make it shorter? Longer? Change how much space it takes up? Does she change the way she writes anything else? Does she change the medium in which she signs her name?

Is she trying to be more eco-friendly? Trying to make a stand against 'eco-warriors'? Is wasting paper relevant? Recycling? Is it at all relevant what her name actually is? Is her job relevant?

Is the name Minerva relevant in any way? Would this work if she were named Matilda? Nirvana? Minnesota? Montana? Moron? (sorry, it's the first word I thought of that had an M, R, and N).

Is her last name/initial relevant? Middle initial/name? Initials as a whole?
Is Minerva in [LTPF List of political parties]? Is she an Independent? Or does it not matter specifically which party she's in, but only what her views are on a certain issue(s)? (I.e. if fiscal conservatism is relevant, then Republicans, some independents, and Libertarians would all work, but she likely would not be a Democrat).

You said "yesish" to a specific colour of ink... does she avoid a specific colour? Does she use two colours?

Did she change it after an election? If so, the 2008 presidential election?
After a specific bill was passed? rejected?
Fukushima relevant?

You didn't answer my question about Fukushima. Sorry--the answer is no

Did she change her habits this year? no last year? noduring the last 5? yes10? 15? 20? years?

Does she avoid green ink? yes

********** SPOILER **************
Minerva likes to use 4-color bik pens, & she used to sign her name in green, because it was pretty & unusual. But she doesn't go for environmental self-righteousness, so once 'green' acquired that secondary meaning, she started using other colors, usually red. Of course, red used to be associated with communism, but it would not be seen that way now, at least not in the US. Sorry the puzzle was so easy. Please check out my new one!!

Nice puzzle!

Some years ago, I learnt that in German schools and universities only the highest official (usually the principal) is allowed to use green ink. How I found out about it? Well, I used green ink to write an exam and was told off by my teacher.
