I recently read an article about someone with an unusual name. At first, I hoped it was not her real name, but I was relieved that it actually was. What was her name, and why was I relieved? |

Was it her birth name? Did she give the name to herself? Relevant? Is her given name unusual? Is her family name? Or the combination of her given and family name? Does her name sound like something ridiculous? Like something obscene? Like something rude? Or otherwise offensive? Did her name significantly clash with her personality? Or looks? Did she have a very exotic given name with a very plain family name? Or vice versa? Do given and family name originate from different cultures? Does she have a very complicated name? Does she have a lot of given names? Are her initials relevant? |

Is her given name an actual word in her mother language (such as Destiny or Hope)? Is her given name a rather well-known word in a different language? Is it a common name with... um... "creative spelling"? Is it the name of some godess? Or of a famous person or figure that you automatically associate with the name? Is it a male name? Does the name clash with her looks? Or with her personality? Is the trait of hers that clashes with her name one that is generally considered as positive (such as beauty or wisdom) and her name is associated with something negative? Or is the trait of hers something negative and the name is associated with something pleasant? |

Was she born before the books came out? So you were relieved that she was not named after the book by a rabid Edward fan? xDYES *********SPOILER****************** Her name was Twilight. At first I thought no idiot would name their kid this, and she changed her name because she was obsessed with the Stephanie Meyer book/movie series. But it was, in fact, her real name. Now that Beyonce named her kid BLUE, though, Twilight doesn't seem so bad. |

Apparently some idiots would name their kids that. But it can't be worse than the parents who changed their kid's name and made it worse. She was originally an "Alice Cullen," but got teasing because of the series, so they switched her middle & first names... to "Isabella Alice Cullen." Yikes. |

Maybe Ball is her married name? I remember once I was at a synagogue for a youth convention, and there was a list to write names down for healing prayers. So, I wrote my grandmother's name down, and the rabbi refused to read it because he thought someone was pulling a prank. Well, her name was Anita Bergman until she married Martin Koch, and my h's look like k's. |
