Early days in this puzzle so a bit of a sledgehammer approach is called for Can children do this? Are men more likely to do it than women? Are famous people more likely than we mere mortals? Would being in a particular geographical location be essential? helpful to wohiccing? Is it only done indoors? outdoors? public? private? Being an average 41 yr old married Irish male do you suspect that I have done this? Would having a particular occupation make one more likely to do this? |

Are any of the following required to use in order to 'wohic': One's voice? One's hands? One's feet? One's fingers? One's eyes? Is 'wohic' active? Or moreso passive? If you were doing this, would anyone who was observing you know that you were doing it? Is it a voluntary action? Or involuntary? Is it done to cause laughter? To achieve a goal? To frighten another person or animal? To improve something? To impress someone else? To disguise oneself? To draw attention to oneself? |

RECAP: Wohiccing requires a certain ability, however, that could be misleading. I'm sure all of you have the ability. Famous people are less likely to wohic than normal people. Wohiccing can be done anywhere at any time. It involves your voice, and is an active, voluntary action. Someone seeing you wohic would probably know you were wohiccing. Wohiccing is usually done to cause laughter, or to disguise something which is not an emotion. Wohiccing involves words. No posts in five days and I'll post the $poiler. |

No one is really posting on this one, and the time is ripe for me to post a different puzzle, so **************SPOILER************** Wohiccing is when you pretend to cough, but are in fact saying a word. The 'famous person' was Ron Weasly. In one of the books (I forget which one) he coughs, and the cough sounds suspiciously like 'Lockhart'. Good job everyone on this puzzle, and look for my new one at the bottom of the page. |

Good one -- sorry I forgot about this one. Is the word an acronym, by any chance? |

another famous wohicc was on a British quiz show - I think it was Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and this has been a little goldmine for many comedy shows. Eric Morcambe of Morecambe and Wise used to do it all the time |

Wohic is a near-acronym: Word hidden in a cough. |
