Yes, this is my first LP for a LONG time (years? let me check ... well, my last solved puzzle was in April 2011, and I've had an adventure in Limbo for a while that I recently threw out the plans for, so that one's unfortunately dead). But hopefully this isn't the only puzzle I'll come up with now ... we'll see. I left partly due to a busy schedule and partly due to a lack of inspiration. Inspiration should be fine, but my schedule gets twice as busy starting ... tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes. Right. The puzzle. When he heard news that a stranger carrying a gun had entered the building and kidnapped a girl, he was happy, even though he knew he was in danger, and he had never met the person. And yes, this is a sequel of sorts to my previous puzzle ... search in December 2010 for that one. |

Does his obsession with fantasy lead him to believe 'good always triumphs'? or, more relevantly to winning her affection, 'the hero gets the girl'? this one! or some other common element of fantasy that doesn't generally apply to real life? I think that's enough for a **********SPOILER********** Our young man is a high school student is currently enamored of one of his female classmates. Then, an armed man enters the building and kidnaps her for irrelevant reasons. So our hero, being himself an avid fantasy fan, decides to be brave and test the applicability of a law commonly observed in fiction, fantasy especially: rescuing someone is likely to make her (or him, in the case of a female protagonist) fall in love with you. (See this tvtropes link, but beware addiction: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RescueRomance) Well, that puzzle lasted a good five months, but a new one is going up right away, so stay tuned! Oh, and don't forget about "Let it be?"—anyone with knowledge of classical music might be able to help out there. |
