Good heavens! Can they court-martial someone just for that? I'm not really new here - I'm Solitaire under an alias, due to happenings beyond my control & too boring to mention. |

I know what you mean. I tried for a while to get back on here. Luckily I eventually after some guesses I managed to hit on my old user name an password True story? USA military forces? Would the puzzle work also with some non-USA military forces? (I think the court-martial term is USA specific, but just thought I'd ask). Does it involve food? ... sexual behaviour? flirting? physical touching? Would a YES make this puzzle too easy lol (I think so)? ... how about related to reading mail? e-mail? web-browsing? any kind of Internet activity? ... Was someone actually court-martialled? If true story, was only one particular person court-martialled? ... Does it involve use of weapons? ... Does it relate to something that someone said or wrote? ... If true story, how did you find out about it: first-preson witness? On a news channel (be it internet, TV, newspaper, or some other media?) |

True story? Yes USA military forces?Yes Would the puzzle work also with some non-USA military forces? (I think the court-martial term is USA specific, but just thought I'd ask). Not sure about this, but pretty sure all must have some method of punishment, so Yes. Does it involve food? Yes! ... sexual behaviour? flirting? physical touching? Would a YES make this puzzle too easy lol (I think so)? No to all ... how about related to reading mail? e-mail? web-browsing? any kind of Internet activity? No to all. ... Was someone actually court-martialled? well, he was tried, but not convicted. If true story, was only one particular person court-martialled? 2 people; one pled guilty, the other defended himself in court. ... Does it involve use of weapons? No, but... ... Does it relate to something that someone said or wrote? no ... If true story, how did you find out about it: first-preson witness? On a news channel (be it internet, TV, newspaper, or some other media?) book. Good start! |

Food fight? Otherwise using food to attack someone? Spiking food with other ingredients? Is the specific war/conflict relevant? Or were they not actually in conflict at the time, and just in training during peacetime? |

iz peelz oar cutz potatoes wrong? *ponderz*Yes! *************SPOILER************ At Ft. Meyer, VA,in 19 59, Pvt. Andrew God, Jr., (I kid you not) was court-martialed for wastefully cutting eyes off of potatoes, instead of digging them out. The charge was "willfully suffered potatoes of some value, the property of the United States, to be destroyed by improper peeling." His fellow- er- criminal pled guilty and took his punishment (more KP), bit God pled self-defense. Using the 'approved' way, he said, he was in danger of cutting himself, doing harm to his body, also the property of the US government. The tribunal bought his argument, and no punishment was given to God. Hence the title of this puzzle. |
