Something that could be said of many victims of racial or ethnic bias could also be said about Gregory because he is Jewish, even though Gregory was never a victim of racial or ethnic bias.

What is this thing and why is this the case?

Is Gregory a real person? Is he currently alive?

Could this thing be said about all Jewish people? Or most of them? Or only a specific category? Or only Gregory?

Is Gregory a real person? yes, he's me Is he currently alive? Unless I'm living the end of The Sixth Sense, yes, I am alive

Could this thing be said about all Jewish people? Or most of them? Or only a specific category? Or only Gregory? Most Reform Jews, and some Conservative Jews including Gregory. Not Orthodox, unless they used to be Conservative or Reform. This info won't help you much unless you're Jewish though. But exploring it a little more will help you a little bit.

Does it have to do with jewish rules of living? Religious practices? Non-jewish people's view of jews? History of jews? Family relations? Situations jews are more likely to be in than others?

Does it have to do with jewish rules of living? Not really, other than very generally Religious practices? DOYD of "practices Non-jewish people's view of jews? only in that Gregory (me) has never been a victim of racial or ethnic bias. History of jews? No Family relations? No Situations jews are more likely to be in than others? Yesish

Also BLOOOPER:
Only Jews from America (and possibly other English-speaking countries, I don't know) could have this said about them. The Reform/Conservative/Orthodox situation applies as well

Can this thing only be said about victims, or about anybody who is of a given racial/ethnic group (in addition to Jews)?

Can this thing only be said about victims, or about anybody who is of a given racial/ethnic group (in addition to Jews)? Generally, it would only be said about victims (or Jews), although in theory it could be said of anyone.

No questions in a month, I'll just

*****SPOILER*****

On Yom Kippur, Jews say a confessional prayer called the "Vidui". It is an acrostic in Hebrew, with each sin beginning with successive letters of the Hebrew alphabet. The translation used by Reform and some Conserative Jews is not literal, but an acrostic as well. "We abuse, we betray, we are cruel ..." But some letters are tough to find something with, so we have to get creative. X is "We are xenophobic". Of course, that's an obscure term, so they invariably explain that it's a "hatred of foreigners", something any Jew who's been to Yom Kippur services and heard it should know from a young age - which could also be said about those who have actually been victims of xenophobia growing up.

Look for a new puzzle soon.
