You earlier stated that this would have worked with backpacks, maybe with bags, probably not with briefcases, and not with suitcases. Is that because of the size? The shape? Softness/hardness? The color? Whether the items had straps or not? Handles or not? Whether the carrying function was adjustable or not? Was the choice of carrying item because of the environment where the prank occurred? Something else occurred? Did they fit in with other people when carrying backpacks, but not suitcases, for instance? Had the backpacks any practical function in pulling the prank (you have earlier stated that the backpacks were not used for carrying the fake bombs)? Any diverting function? |

You earlier stated that this would have worked with backpacks, maybe with bags, probably not with briefcases, and not with suitcases. Is that because of the size? The shape? Softness/hardness? The color? Whether the items had straps or not? Handles or not? Whether the carrying function was adjustable or not? no to all. The important thing is that it has to be a usual item a young man would carry around all day long, every day Was the choice of carrying item because of the environment where the prank occurred? Something else occurred? Did they fit in with other people when carrying backpacks, but not suitcases, for instance? no to all Had the backpacks any practical function in pulling the prank (you have earlier stated that the backpacks were not used for carrying the fake bombs)? Any diverting function? no to all Here's a RECAP to help everyone get OTRT again. Nick and Jacob are two young men. Some years ago, they pulled a prank - they planted a fake bomb at a train station. They were caught, but only received a mild punishment, mainly because they were still teenagers. Now, they decided to buy new backpacks and to get rid of the old ones. They do so because the backpacls are considered identifiers, but not of those who pulled the prank. There's one essential part missing, and then this should be solved. |

Did a REAL bomber use that particular backpack style to plant a bomb in their area? In their state? Were officials conducting "routine" checks of backpacks of that type since they're on heightened alert? Had the images of this backpack type been all over the news? Were innocent people being taken in for questioning simply because they possessed that type of backpack? (i.e. Kids who wear trench coats were getting picked on after Columbine.) As a condition of their lenient punishment, were Nick and Jacob told that if they were so much as suspected of being complicit in another such prank or actual bombing, their previous prank would go on their permanent record? |

As a condition of their lenient punishment, were Nick and Jacob told that if they were so much as suspected of being complicit in another such prank or actual bombing, their previous prank would go on their permanent record? no Nice work, time for the ********SPOILER******** In Nick's and Jacob's city, someone planted a bomb at the main station. The first suspect description was "a tall man with a red backpack", and since this was the only hint, the police were looking for tall men with red backpacks all around the city. Our two friends are both tall and have red backpacks. They're known to the police for having pulled a prank involving a fake bomb years ago. Now they think it's better to get rid of the backpacks in order not to look "suspicious" to the police. |
