With a couple days left in my Ireland trip, I've already decided that I want to go back, but not with a large group of people as I did this month. I have a lot of reasons for this, but there's one which sticks out as more lateral than the rest. What is that reason? |

Not a large group: will a small group be okay? If so: any group? Family? Friends? Or do you want to go alone? Is there something you want to: do? Experience? Avoid? |

To clarify, I assume by "go back" you mean to Ireland rather than 'go home'? Would you be able to do this experience alone? or would it necessarily involve other people? |

Do you think that alone or with a smaller group it'd be easier to get in touch with the locals? |

Are there specific locals you would like to be able to get in touch with? perhaps other members of the LTPF? |

Do you want to have a more 'authentic' experience? Discover more of the culture? Do things that are less touristy? Do you feel that a big group is more likely to get treated like tourists? That people won't interact with you as much because you are with so many others? That you intimidate people? Are there certain things you would like to do that a big group can't? Do you want to go somewhere that can only accommodate a few people? Like a small restaurant? Or staying with someone? Did your whole group stay together all the time on this trip? If you had broken off from the main group with a few others (assuming you were allowed to), would that have fulfilled your purpose? Is there any particular time you want to go back? Is accommodation relevant? Eating? Tourist attractions? |

Are there specific locals you would like to be able to get in touch with? perhaps other members of the LTPF? I certainly would but that's not the relevant reason Do you want to have a more 'authentic' experience? Yes, in one specific way Discover more of the culture? Ditto Do things that are less touristy? Definitely Ditto Do you feel that a big group is more likely to get treated like tourists? Yes but irrel That people won't interact with you as much because you are with so many others? Not as much, but somewhat relevant. Assume a slight Yes That you intimidate people? No and irrel Are there certain things you would like to do that a big group can't? Do you want to go somewhere that can only accommodate a few people? Like a small restaurant? Or staying with someone? No to these Did your whole group stay together all the time on this trip? No, but they frequently broke off into fairly large groups If you had broken off from the main group with a few others (assuming you were allowed to) I was, I just never really got this opportunity, would that have fulfilled your purpose? I might have been able to, Yes Is there any particular time you want to go back? No Is accommodation relevant? Eating? No but OTRT. No to rest Tourist attractions? is it to do with finding out how the locals feel? do things? This learning the lingo? learning ballads? dancing? No to all |

Was the 'smaller yes' to 'avoid?' avoiding the normal tourist things? and the 'bigger yes' to experiencing a real Irish lifestyle? are these general desires or is it much more specific? |

Is drinking relevant? Nightlife? Visits? Shopping? Is there a particular part of Ireland you want to go back to? If you went back with a small group but stayed only in one town, would that be ok? Is transport relevant? Do you want to discover things you didn't get to see last time? Different parts of the country? Of a city? |

Are pubs relevant? Bars? Nightclubs? Do you want to experience a more authentic Irish nightlife? Is there anything relevant about the group you went with last time? Any relevant rules for your trip? A prevailing opinion among the group? |

Is getting up early the next day relevant? Relevant that with a large group, it's more difficult to decide which pub/bar to go to? That you tend to end up in one of the more known/touristy places? |

Did you go out drinking with the group? Did they tend to go to a particular kind of place, which you want to avoid next time? Did you go to 'american style' bars? Is the thing you want to avoid a particular style of nightlife? |

This is close enough. ****SPOILER**** In Ireland, I would usually go out at night with a somewhat sizable group. I wanted to experience more of an Irish nightlife (pubs, music, conversation, etc), but since I was with a group of college students, everyone drank like Americans, or at least American college students (go to one bar, get a drink, go to another, get a drink, etc). I want to go back so I can experience the Irish nightlife as opposed to the American one. Nice work everyone, and good solve Enjay et al. New puzzle shortly. |

Ha nice one Balin. As for this particular Irishman once I get comfy in a pub a herd of wild horses wouldn't get me to move to another one. |
