Is Bob's family royal? Aristocratic? Did he become king? A lord, earl or similar?

Was Bob the youngest? Should the title have gone to one of his siblings? To another relative? Did Bob have to wait a long time for it? Did something happen to whoever should have got it?

Should it have gone to an older sibling? Is Bob male? By 'time was on his side' do you mean on Bob's side? Is it relevant that titles tend to pass only to male heirs?
Did the person who should have got the title turn it down? DId they have it but then pass it on to Bob?

Whew. "Earl Bob" was hard to stomach...

Is this a matter of an entailed estate, as in "Pride and Prejudice"?

Is it a matter of one of the siblings had traveled, or accomplished something, and thereby gained or lost?

By 'time was on his side', do you mean that he had to wait a long time to get it? That a certain amount of time passed, after which he could have the title and his older sibling couldn't? That he was able to wait longer than his sibling?

Relevant how old Bob was when he got the title? How old his sibling was? Are any other siblings relevant? Any other relatives? Did Bob get the title when his father died? Was the sibling somehow missing when the title was given to Bob? Did the sibling protest Bob getting the title? Were they given something else instead of the title?

Would the title-holder have to live somewhere relevant? Do something relevant?

Was bob very young? If so, I am going to guess that bob got a title to be an earl or something. but bob is a kid and isn't well educated and his older sibling is more educated and should of gotten the title, but the will or document from the deceased said the youngest person should get the title.

"goes and checks big word" - ooh, yay, I love it when people have to learn big words because of me ^_^ or, conversely, when I get to learn big words because of other people. Learning in general makes me happy. For the people who did not look it up but may possibly be interested - ultimogeniture is the opposite of primogeniture. In other words, rather than the firstborn son (or firstborn child) being the heir and inheriting everything (or inheriting most things), the lastborn son (or child) inherits. This system is *much* less commonly known, but is done with the idea that the elder sons/children are old enough to go out and make their own lives, and the youngest will probably be still at home anyway, so is in the best position to keep the hearth and home.

Did the author of the will appoint the heir using a certain date? Describe the heir as "the oldest"? Describe the heir as "born first"?
Was Bob the younger twin, born just after midnight of the last missing day and his sibling the older twin born just before midnight of the last missing day?
Was the author of the will aware of the calendar change? Of the fact that it changed inheritance order?

Did the author of the will appoint the heir like: "my son born on XX.YY.ZZZZ" - which was sibling's birthday before calendar change and Bob's birthday after calendar change?

Relevant how the date was formatted? Is a misunderstanding of which numbers were days, months and/or years relevant?

The elder sibling(s), were born on the 'missing ' days eg Feb 29th in different years eg, first sibling born 29th Feb 1880, second sibling born 29th Feb 1881, but the sibling that ended up heir had a birth-date that was fixed in the calendar?

I'll try and break this down a bit....

The elder sibling(s), were born on the 'missing ' days Yes
eg Feb 29th in different years eg, first sibling born 29th Feb 1880, second sibling born 29th Feb 1881, One-and only one-sibling was born on Feb 29.It hasn't been important until now-but there are three older siblings.
but the sibling that ended up heir had a birth-date that was fixed in the calendar?Yes

so..the one sibling born on the 29th was not the true heir?
The fact that there are three elder siblings, is that relevant because of their birth-dates also? Are their birth-dates all the same(excepting the sibling on the 29th Feb?
is it relevant how many years separated the elder siblings and the true heir?
