No but on the right track Whatever the disgusting aspect is, would it remind them of cucumbers, or sandwiches? so that they would not want to eat them? No. The idea is that cucumber sandwiches are the traditionally genteel thing to eat after a game of Tennis or just for mid afternoon tea for the sophisticated upper classes. | ||

This is a traditional game played in parts of Asia such as Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan and has become wide spread again with the liberalising political changes in those parts more recently.
