Are they doctors? Executioners? I'm not sure what their proper jobs are. It's unlikely that they all have the same means of livlihood although my guess is that they are mostly rural types. |

Are they pursuing some recreational activity? Yes has this anything to do with "The Importance of Being Earnest"? No but the idea is that the consumption of cucumber sandwiches is the typically genteel english idea for a summer's afternoontea. |

After careful thought, I am taking the risk... so do they play polo with something unusual? (BTW, I am totally ignorant what you need to play NORMAL polo - a horse, I suppose, than some sort of stick, a ball? am I right?) Would I find it disgusting? illegal? are they males? females? relevant? |

so do they play polo with something unusual? Yes! (BTW, I am totally ignorant what you need to play NORMAL polo - a horse, I suppose, than some sort of stick, a ball? am I right?) Absolutely - that's about the limit of my knowledge too! Would I find it disgusting? probably illegal? No are they males? Yes females? Possibly relevant? not really By the way, I'm not suere what you mean by "G-rated. What does it mean? It may not be G-rated. There is certainly nothing sexually risque here. |

G-rated as "Apt for general audiences, all ages admitted" SO the disgusting thing is the stick? the ball? other? Is it disgusting because of the sight? smell? other? Do they use a human head instead of the ball, for example? Whatever the disgusting aspect is, would it remind them of cucumbers, or sandwiches? so that they would not want to eat them? |

G-rated as "Apt for general audiences, all ages admitted" I see SO the disgusting thing is the stick? the ball? other? The Ball Is it disgusting because of the sight? smell? other? possibly both of these but just the knowledge of what it is, is more than enough Do they use a human head instead of the ball, for example? No but on the right track Whatever the disgusting aspect is, would it remind them of cucumbers, or sandwiches? so that they would not want to eat them? No. The idea is that cucumber sandwiches are the traditionally genteel thing to eat after a game of Tennis or just for mid afternoon tea for the sophisticated upper classes. |

So the general idea is that these people are not sophisticated enough to do such sublime things as eat cucumber sandwiches, right? Is the ball made of some sort of excrement, then? |

animal buttocks? Not quite but you are near enough. ************** SPOILER ************** As bizarre as it may seem there is a popular sport called Kok Boru which is a form of Polo that uses a headless goat instead of a ball! This is a traditional game played in parts of Asia such as Kyrgyzstan and Afghanistan and has become wide spread again with the liberalising political changes in those parts more recently. See for yourself... Headlees Goat Polo Headless Goat Polo again Do you imagine that they get together for cucumber sandwiches afterwards? |
