Did he say he was 'Herman Toothrot'? 'H.Toothrot'? something else? Is there more to it than simply saying he was Herman rather than Guybrush? |

So the attention to detail is that the programmers used a previous (although fairly minor) character for the purposes of an alias for Guybrush in the second game? what is left to discover? |

***** SPOILER ***** In MI2, you need to check out some books from a library. Guybrush is given a choice of alias to use and one of them is Herman Toothrot. Way back in MI1, the stranded Herman mentions, "The fine on that overdue library book must be pretty steep by now." And sure enough if you use his name you can only check out three books and not the usual four with the other choices. Nifty, eh? |

I hadn't noticed that despite playing the game several times! There are just not enough Monkey Island puzzles around here! |

This puzzle has been fun to watch unfold, even if I did have to give up on it way back. Very nicely done, Dref, Pandora, Zenith and Wunderland! |

Brilliant! (I'm only sorry that I couldn't get MI1 and MI2 working before I could swoop.) I've just installed Virtual Machine software and still can't get the games to play. I'm gonna try DOSBox next. |
