Is this strictly within the Devonshire boundaries or is it available over the border in Cornwall or whatever's to the east of Devon? (doesn't sound so grand as East of Eden, especially as it includes Swindon)

Too late - it's Torrington. Never heard of it - just know Lynton, Lynmouth and Sidmouth. Two Lyns and a Sid.

Is this strictly within the Devonshire boundaries or is it available over the border in Cornwall or whatever's to the east of Devon? the particular thing that is the subject of the puzzle is available only in Torrington. However, other instances of the "thing" involved are available from the Four-Mile Radius roughly to the plains of Hindustan.

Is it something that is used to construct things? well, there are two aspects to this "thing", or at any rate, two nouns involved. Both of them may be said to be used to "construct things", though the second would more readily be thought of than the first in those terms.

Will it finish because it will be taken away? Or will it take a couple of months to disintegrate naturally? Or will the warmer weather finish it off?

Will it finish because it will be taken away? it will "finish" because there will no longer be any need for it, once enough has been done Or will it take a couple of months to disintegrate naturally? again, this "thing" now available in Devon is something of an abstraction - it cannot "disintegrate" Or will the warmer weather finish it off? no

By Sam Greene (Pandora) on Tuesday, April 05, 2005 - 11:46 pm:

A festival? there is a festival of a kind involved, but this is not the "thing" itself will it generate monetary income for the people of Torrington? indeed it will, and now you are cooking with gas :) Are any non-human animals involved? no
