Did she want to avoid someone ? Did she want to avoid reaching home at that time (when the bus stopped close to her house) ? If she had indeed got off near her house, would she have been able to reach the house directly ? within 2 minutes, say ? |

By Sam Greene (Pandora) on Friday, April 15, 2005 - 02:24 pm: Is there someone else relevant to this puzzle? yes a group of people? yes a couple? yes a non-himan animal? no if yes to any of these was it someone/people? she hoped to see? Could you rephrase this? I don't understand this question. Did she live with someone relevant? no By Benjamin Moore (Zenith) on Friday, April 15, 2005 - 03:42 pm: Is the noish that was the subject of contention previously a matter of wording the particular question? I'm not sure what this means either. Questions that have different words sometimes get different answers Is anyone else relevent to this puzzle? yes If so, does she meet someone at this bus stop? no By Amol D. Did she want to help someone else? Meet someone else? See someone else? Harm someone else? Is the other person involved male? Female? E-mail? (I don't know what that meant, either.) Approx. same age as her? Older? Younger? Is the other relevant person on the bus at any point? Before she got off? As she got off? After? If the other relevant person were not in the picture, would she have disembarked at the stop nearest her house? |

Did she want/need someone else to see where she got off the bus? to provide some sort of alibi? Was the area where she got off the bus a "nicer" area to live than where she lived and she was a bit of a snob?(!) or vv? |

Reading previous answers, in order to avoid being struck by a thunderbolt, I am now somewhat confused. One answer indicates that there are "a couple" of other "relevant people" involved, yet we seem of late to have been talking about a single "relevant person". Are there, in fact, exactly two other relevant people? If so, are they a "couple" in the leather-jacketed sense of the term? |

Are there, in fact, exactly two other relevant people? If so, are they a "couple" in the leather-jacketed sense of the term? Including Our Heroine, there are two main characters in this story. They ishishly form a couple in the leather-jacketed sense. |

And still I am lost... Is there someone else relevant to this puzzle? yes a group of people? yes a couple? yes Now, unless "else" is to be interpreted in some fashion other than its customary English sense, this would seem to imply that there are a couple of people "other than" Our Heroine. But what you say above implies that this is not the case. Is this apparent inconsistency resolvable? Is it relevant? And if the relevant people really are confined to Our Heroine and one other, is it still right to say that the gender of this other person is irrelevant, given that they "ishishly" form a couple? I'm not trying to be difficult. I'm just trying to understand. Even though I know it's a puzzle |
