Did he look at his body after the explosion, see the burns and faint at the sight? no Was the bomb actually a firework? no (You can tell I'm clutching at straws here!) Would you like a hint? |

Ah! If I guess your hint correctly - was the man shot with a blank round from a gun, thought it was a real bullet and died, not from the "bullet", but because of his weak heart? |

Shame - I thought I'd got that! I'll have to go away and have another think. |

My attempt at a hint has apparently only made things worse. Let's try a recap instead. *** RECAP *** A bomb exploded. A man died because of severe burns that were indirectly caused by the explosion. He had a weak heart, but didn't die of a heart attack or shock. He was not at the location of the explosion and he was noishly near it. It would help to find out the type of bomb. It is really a bomb. It is not a letter bomb, grenade or firework. It is not what one would normally refer to as an "incendiary device", but it is indeed a device and it is indeed incendiary. Shock is relevant, explore at your own risk. |

Is electricity relevant? "Noishly near it"- was he burned from actual debris from the bomb? If so, did it travel a long way to get to him? |

Was the device constructed specifically as a bomb or is it something else, e.g. a household object, which became a bomb because of what someone did to it? Was the man the target or did he just happen to be in the wrong place at the wrong time? |

Was the bomb intended for the man next to him, who didn't die? |

Did the bomb exploding create an electrical current? Did he die purely by electrocution? Relevant who the killing was meant for? Is this a true story? |

Did the current light something on fire? Start a chain of events that ended in his burns? Did the current go through conventional electrical wires? Through the walls? Did the killer expect the killing to happen in this manner, but on a different person? |

Did the current light something on fire? no Start a chain of events that ended in his burns? for svv of chain, yes Did the current go through conventional electrical wires? Through the walls? You mean like house wiring? then no Did the killer expect the killing to happen in this manner, but on a different person? NO |
