What if his spot in the competition had been swapped with another person? Would his fate have been swapped as well? |

Was the electricity generated by humans or by nature? Was it in power lines? Was in for supplying electricity for electric devices to work? Was this inside? Outside? Was he going to the dance dance dance place after the hurricane and he stepped in a puddle of water and there was a downed power line laying it in and it shocked him? |

Did a downed power line fall onto his car (maybe in the parking lot). Inside the car he was protected because the rubber tires could not ground the current. But when we stepped one metallic shoe out onto the ground, he was electrocuted. Was he dancing in anyway when he left the car? (It's best to jump out with both feet in such a situation!) Was he listening to his dance routine music in the car? Was he ever on top of his car? Was he driving? |

Perhaps, he was driving and trying to get back to the place where his performance would be in time? He was rushing so that he could make his time slot? This caused him to crash into one of the posts holding up the powerlines? *points to mezzoforte's post as to what she thinks happened next* |

Hint: He was electrocuted while still in the car. Was he dancing in anyway when he left the car? No, FA. (It's best to jump out with both feet in such a situation!)Yes indeed, but irr. None of this, but it's so close and it works so well that I'm tempted just to $poi1. There's just a couple of tiny details... |

I don't suppose the dance routine involved the car, did it? Did the car get flipped over? Such that the metal roof or side was grounded? So, being in the tap shoes, as soon as he touched his car the current fried him? "If the Competition hadn't been timed..." Still working on that bit... Did he forget a change of costume and rushed back to his appartment to get it? Were the powerlines that fell on the car wired in to the competition? E.g. when the stage hands turned on the power at the proper timing, the electricity surged through to the car? |

*******Spoiler**** Spoiling this one and getting on with my life, several people got so close... Our hero was driving to or home from practice. He was wearing a watch because the competition was timed, and metal toed-shoes because he was a tap dancer. A downed power line hits the car. He would have been insulated, except that his watch was touching the metal door and his shoes touched the metal floor. Thus, the electricity had a path through his body. The End. |
