Only very remotely, and not necessarily any at all. This might mislead, but I have to answer truthfully.

Hangman? Old Maid? Online poker? Online mini-golf?
No

Ok... an on-line game. You had to get rid of 10 somethings. You've got 5 more to get rid of.

This doesn't involve 1st person shooters? Is this a game that can be found on-line at a website and played outright? Or do you need a cd/software to play it? How about a license key to play it? Is it some sort of on-line scavenger hunt?
Can you play this game with 1 other person? 2? 3? 4? 5?...16?...32?...50?... 100?...500?... 5000?

Tic Tac Toe? Dots and boxes? Some similar paper/pencil game? Do we just have to find the right name?

Wait a sec... most paper/pencil games can only be played by 2 people per game. Do you mean that as many people can play seperate games simultaneously as they wish? Or this game can actually be played with thousands of people?

It's a little bit more unusual. The right name will do.

The online version is played with thousands of people. The paper version ... I think it would take some organizing. Not really plausible, but I'd say possible.

Boggle? Scrabble? Anagrams? Jumble? Crosswords?

Making as many words as you can from a large word? from a matrix of letters in fixed locations? from a pile of letters? From a fixed number of letters?

There were more than ten somethings involved at the beginning?
Does it matter how many there were at the beginning?
Does each game start with the same number of somethings?
Would it help to find out how many somethings you started with?
(if Yes, please insert LTPF LoPI here?)

Yes.

The exact amount? No. The general quantity? Finding that out might help.

Yope.

Would it help to find out how many somethings you started with?
(if Yes, please insert LTPF LoPI here?)
Yes. I started with ten.
