Risa dresses conservatively, acts normal, carries no probematic luggage, and belongs to no group that is subject to discrimination. But when she travels by plane, she often gets delayed at airport security. How come?????? |

Does she have a pacemaker/plate in her skull/ other thing in her body that sets off the metal detectors? Does she have an artificial leg, and is unable to remove her shoes? Does she have a hearing aid or some other device that must stay near her body? Or that cannot be x-rayed? |

Does she have a name that's on some list to be screened? Does it have to do with how she books her travel (i.e. paid in cash or a one-way ticket)? |

Hehe. Actually, I like that idea! Does she "arouse security?" Thus they detain her simply because she's sexy and they want an excuse to talk to her or touch her? Err... I mean, search her.... |

I'm betting on one of those last two--different gender (although I would expect her to get a new passport at that point) or a weight gain where it could be wondered if she was smuggling something in the extra volume... |

Well not if she was technically male and lived as a woman. I am not sure you CAN get another passport for that. According the government you would still be male... |

Funny how they don't allow you to carry extra luggage .... I've just lost the equivalent of the baggage allowance but it didn't sway them to let me carry extra bags - even though I would have carried it in flesh if I'd travelled six months ago |

Hi Lynne - I too have lost a significant proportion of a baggage allowance. This means that between me, you and Felicia Nimue we have probably lost the equivalent of one or two lateral puzzlers... |
